Course: Design of steel structure
Semester: VI
Unit 2- Assignment

1. What is fasteners and its [Link] in detail fastener selection criteria.


2. Differentiate between bolted & welded connection.
3. What is the efficiency of joints.
4. Design the lap joint between plate of size 100x16mm & 100x10mm thick
so as to transmit factor load of 100 kN using single row of bolts of grade
4.6 and grade [Link] diameter of bolt is 16mm.
5. An unequal angle 1.5m long of a truss is connected to the gusset [Link]
carries ultimate load of 250kN. Design the section using bolted connection.
Assume Fy = 250 and fck = 410Mpa.
6. Design a single angle discontinuous strut to carry a working load of
[Link] of member between intersection is [Link] welded
connection .Use grade of steel Fe410 & Fy = 250N/mm2
