Glitches
Get the item you want from FlipTop/Eddie
FlipTop/Eddie appears in certain empty rooms and will
eject a random item to you when you are close by. Walk up
to him to get him to stop, then quickly move away. If you
don't get the item you want, exit the room and return. As
long as you don't pick up the item, Eddie/FlipTop will
reappear with a new item.

Secrets
M-Tank Trick PS
Normally when you use an M-Tank it refills all your Life and
Weapon/Item meters, however if you use an M-tank while
you have all your meters full and there are non-boss
enemies on the screen, these enemies will turn into 1-up
icons. When you do this and there are no non-boss
enemies on the scree you will gain one extra life.

Use Extra Parts in Navi Mode PS

In the Navi Mode of Rockman 5, you can use extra parts
for Rockman that makes him stronger, faster, etc. You can
only equip 2 parts at a time though. To get these parts you
need to collect Battle Data from enemies. The more Battle
Data you collect the more parts you'll get. There exists a
total of 8 parts in the game.

Extra note: To equip these parts, enter Dr. Light's Lab on

the Mode Select screen.

*Hyper Jump (20 Battle Data needed): This makes

Rockman jump super high.
*Auto Charge (40 Battle Data needed): Rockman's buster
charges up automatically.
*Energy Saver (80 Battle Data needed): The energy of
weapons is doubled.
*Hyper Shot (160 Battle Data needed): Rockman's buster
shots are faster.
*Hyper Charge Shot (320 Battle Data needed): Rockman's
charged buster shot is faster.
*Power Shot (640 Battle Data needed): Rockman's shots
deals more damage.
*Hyper Charge (1000 Battle Data needed): Rockman can
charge his buster faster than before.
*Speed Up (2000 Battle Data needed): Rockman's
movement speed is double, thus he runs faster.

Game Trivia NES

MegaMan 5 is able to demonstrate one of the major

limitations of the NES's PPU. The PPU will render graphics
by priority; to simplify the definition, it does it so that some
things will appear in front of others. However, only a limited
number of priorities are able to occur. For most NES
games, it is not a problem, and for those it is evident in,
MegaMan 5 included, it's mere trivia. The conflict from the
priorities can result in flickering. One example of this will
occur in Crystal Man's stage. If you position the screen
such that the health gauge is over the image of a ladder,
and then have MegaMan climb up the ladder, while
MegaMan is where the health gauge and ladder are
MegaMan's sprite will flicker 30 times per second. This can
be easiest done in the part of the stage where Eddy first
appears. (There are myriad other areas where this
happens, too, but this is the easiest to deal with.)
