Research Methodology

Research Topic: Perception of teachers regarding parents’ involvement for students’


academic performance in district Multan.

1. Research Design
The study employs a descriptive research design based on a quantitative approach.
Descriptive research helps in understanding the current status and perceptions of teachers
about parental involvement in students’ academic performance.

2. Research Method
This research follows a survey method using structured questionnaires to collect data from
teachers. The method is appropriate to gather quantifiable insights and generalize findings.

3. Population
The population includes all teachers from public and private schools in district Multan,
specifically those teaching at the elementary and secondary levels.

4. Sampling Technique
A purposive sampling technique will be used to select teachers who have at least one year of
experience and are currently involved in student evaluation and parental interaction.

5. Sample Size
The sample will consist of 100 teachers from different schools across district Multan to
ensure diversity in opinions and experience levels.

6. Instrumentation
A structured questionnaire will be used as the main instrument. The questionnaire will
consist of Likert-scale items, multiple-choice questions, and short response questions to
assess teachers’ perceptions about parental involvement.

7. Validity and Reliability


The questionnaire will be validated by a panel of education experts to ensure content
validity. A pilot study will be conducted with 10 teachers, and the reliability of the tool will
be tested using Cronbach's alpha.
8. Time Frame
The data collection is scheduled to take place over a one-month period following the
approval of the instruments. Data analysis and report writing will follow in the subsequent
two months.

The primary sources of data are teachers from public and private schools in district Multan.
They will provide insights based on their experiences with parental involvement in

Data will be collected through physical distribution of questionnaires in schools. Consent

anonymity and data confidentiality, will be strictly followed.
