VISA RENEWAL POLICY

Hope this information finds you well,

SUBMISSION OF PASSPORT MUST BE MORE THAN 90 DAYS BEFORE VISA EXPIRY DATE.

For visa renewal, the application form should be submitted at least three (3) months before the
expiry date of your current student pass. Submission less than 3 months before visa expiry date will
be charged for penalty RM20 per day. Please note that the submission of a student pass application
does not automatically renew the existing pass held. A new student pass is considered issued only
on completion of formalities at the International Office. You are responsible for ensuring that you
reside in Malaysia on a valid immigration pass. It is an offence to overstay without a valid
pass. Students who forgot to extend their student pass on time and stayed in Malaysia without a
valid immigration pass will be fined. Passport collection is approximately 1 month after student pass
expiry date. DO NOT CONFIRM ANY TRAVEL ARRANGEMENT prior obtaining your passport from
EMGS & Immigration Department Malaysia. No special request to expedite the process will be
entertained. You are to AT ALL TIMES take note of your passport & visa validity.

Document required for extension of Student Pass

1. A full photocopy of passport pages (Detail page in colour)


2. Photo x2 (white colour background)
3. A copy of Offer Letter
4. Progress Report/Supervisor Report (For Research Mode only)
5. Visa Renewal fees are RM1000.
6. Passport Validity: Minimum 18 months
7. Academic performance: Minimum 2.0 CGPA
8. Attendance performance: Minimum 80%

You are to regularly check for Update of Passport Collection from International Student Department.
You shall be given a Verification Letter whenever you submit your passport to International Student
Department (IO) for official business. This letter must be returned to International Student
department (IO) during passport collection.
