LITERATURE REVIEW
Phùng Nguyễn Quỳnh Nga*, Nguyễn Thị Nga*. (2023) investigated the main advantages of
applying AI technology in the English language training and learning scheme. Besides, the influence
of AI applications on English teachers of the primary education department , ensuring a in-depth and
productive learning experience. The study evaluated the current state of English language teaching
and learning in teacher training colleges. It still had many limitations, especially in developing
communication skills. Students lacked self-study motivation and faced difficulties in accessing
learning materials. AI can play a significant role in personalized learning by analyzing students'
abilities and providing tailored learning paths. It also has ability to doing automated tasks such as
grading assignments, creating exercises, and providing instant feedback to students. Moreover, AI
generate diverse and engaging learning content to cater to individual needs. AI-powered tools can
provide 24/7 support to students through chatbots and virtual assistants. By personalizing learning,
automating tasks, and creating engaging content, AI significantly improve the effectiveness of
language learning. It can enhance students' motivation, provide them with more opportunities for
practice, and ultimately lead to better learning outcomes.
Vu thuy linh. (2024) examined the potential of ELSA,an AI application, impacts on speaking
skill among fourty student at VNU University of Education. The researcher guided students
in downloading the software and introduced the app's advantages then she taught how to use
it. Subsequently, the author began the application by asking students to choose a course that
suited their level, providing students with a paragraph and having them use ELSA in class to
practice reading the paragraph. After 8 weeks of practice, the investigator asked students to
take a test with predetermined criteria to evaluate their progress. The statistic pointed out that
all of aspects, including fluency, grammar, vocabulary, comprehension and pronunciation,
improved remarkabaly. Survey findings showed that significant majority of students, 60%,
expressed high satisfaction with the ELSA Speak app. They found it helpful in improving
their pronunciation, expanding their vocabulary, and gaining confidence in speaking English.
However, the article hightlighted the necessary of considering the suitability of the
application for the students' readiness level. Technology is only a supplementary tool to
support language teaching, so English teachers cannot ignore their pedagogical skills. The
key to successful language teaching lies in the teacher's methods, how the teacher can
manage and conduct classroom activities. Moreover, teachers also need to understand the
needs and desires of their students.
Nhìu tác giả, they explored the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on second language
learning, particularly focusing on English language acquisition. It examines research
demonstrating AI's effectiveness in improving oral fluency. The study investigates the
broader implications of AI integration, considering factors like technology access, data
privacy, and equitable access to education. It also addresses the ethical considerations of
using AI in language teaching, emphasizing the need for a balanced approach. The article
provides valuable insights for educators, researchers, and practitioners in the field of
language education.
According to Chokri Kooli ( 2023, ). The landscape of education and research is being
reshaped by the rapid advancement of chatbots and AI. Through qualitative research, it
explored the potential benefits and challenges associated with these technologies. By
automating tedious tasks, providing personalized learning paths, and democratizing access to
information, AI has the potential to revolutionize both research and education, creating a
more efficient and equitable learning [Link], it also raised concerns about
potential misuse, data privacy violations, and the impact on human judgment and creativity.
As a result, the author suggests we need foster awareness, enact appropriate legislation, and
reinforce ethical values, ensuring research and education thrive in the age of AI. Rather than
viewing AI systems and chatbots as threats, we must embrace them as opportunities for
development.
Research Questions
This paper aims to explore the potential use of AI systems and chatbots in the academicfield
and their impact on research and education from an ethical perspective. Consequently, the first
research question (RQ1) is that what are the benefits and limitations of using AI tools for
English Speaking skill ?
The second (RQ2) answers for the question answers for the question :"What are the strategies
for boosting advantages of AI applications and resolving its drawbacks"
