Calculate Sales Forecast

This document explains how you calculate a sales forecast. Sales forecasts are used to estimate the demand for a certain period and are saved in
datasets.

Outcome

A sales forecast is created and the file of the dataset to which the forecast is connected is updated.

Sales forecasts are used to estimate the demand on different levels and can be exploded into item forecasts in the material plan or the master demand
schedule. They can also be used as input to M3 Demand Planner.

Before you start


A dataset must have been enabled.
Sales forecasting must have been enabled.
Demand statistics must be available

Follow These Steps


1 Start 'Sales Forecast. Generate in Dataset' (OSS440/B).
2 Select the dataset for which you want to generate a sales forecast.

3 Enter a period for the forecast calculation.

4 Select option 11=Generate to start the forecast calculation.

5 Start 'Sales Stats/Budget. Display' (OSS415) to view the result of the forecast calculation.
