INTRODUCTION
Employee Training and Development is a critical aspect of Human Resource Management
aimed at enhancing employee skills, knowledge, and efficiency to improve job performance
and satisfaction. In today’s dynamic business environment, organizations must
continuously upgrade the capabilities of their workforce to stay competitive.
At Hindustan Sales Private Limited (HSPL), a company operating in the automobile and
ancillary sectors, training and development programs play an essential role in preparing
employees for the evolving needs of customers and technology. With a diverse workforce
across sales, service, and support functions, the effectiveness of training directly impacts
operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
This project focuses on understanding the current training and development practices at
HSPL, evaluating their effectiveness, and providing recommendations to enhance the
learning experience and align training objectives with organizational goals.
OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY
Primary Objectives
1. To examine the current training and development practices at HSPL.
2. To evaluate the effectiveness of training programs in enhancing employee performance.
3. To understand employee perceptions regarding the relevance and impact of training.
4. To assess the alignment of training programs with the company’s strategic goals.
Secondary Objectives
1. To identify challenges faced during training implementation.
2. To analyze the role of HR in planning and delivering training.
3. To suggest improvements to increase training effectiveness and employee engagement.
4. To benchmark HSPL’s training practices against industry standards.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
This research adopts a descriptive design to explore training and development practices at
HSPL. Both primary and secondary data sources were used to collect relevant information.
1. Research Design:
Descriptive research to study existing training methods and their outcomes.
2. Research Approach:
A mixed-method approach including quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews.
3. Primary Data:
Collected through structured questionnaires and informal interviews with employees and
HR personnel.
4. Secondary Data:
Company manuals, HR policy documents, and training materials.
5. Sampling:
Purposive sampling involving 30-50 employees who have undergone recent training.
6. Tools Used:
Questionnaires, interview guides, and observation sheets.
7. Data Analysis:
Quantitative data analyzed through basic statistics; qualitative data through thematic
analysis.
8. Limitations:
Limited to one organization and short internship period; some employees may hesitate to
share openly.
DATA ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION
This section presents the analysis and interpretation of the data collected from employees
at HSPL. The aim is to understand their views on the training and development programs
implemented in the company. The data was collected using a structured questionnaire
administered to 40 employees across various departments.
