Cookbook – Batch classification and batch stock

1. Create a batch class (class type 023) – CL01/CL02/CL03


Integrated batches can only be classified with class type 023 (batch relevance on material
level). Class type 022 (batch relevance on plant level) is not supported for integration.

2. Integrate the class – CFM1/CFM2


Create an integration model only for the classes. You should never integrate anything else in
this model as this will result in unnecessary CIF “traffic”.

3. Create material – MM01


Classify material with batch class (023). You can assign the class on the classification tab. In case you
also would like to assign a class for configuration which is to be integrated you need to make sure
that both classes are named the same. This is because otherwise there will be problems during the
automatic creation of the CDP class (type 400).
Set the flag for batch management – either on tab „Sales general/plant” or “Work Scheduling”
4. Create integration model for material and batches – CFM1/CFM2
5. Create batch – MSC1N
6. Create stock – MB1C (movement type 561)

Enter material – quantity – storage location and batch

And Save afterwards


7. In the product view you will see your batch stock. The green triangle shows the classification
data in LC. If going to tab “Versions” you will see the classification data from DB (this is only
available on the active planning version 000).

8. Sometimes you are getting the error below when trying to create goods movement in MB1C.

You then need to go to transaction MMPV and do the period closing

Go back to MB1C. You should now be able to do goods movements.
