1. PURPOSE:
To describe the procedures for the pest control services
2. SCOPE:
This procedure applicable to pest control program in M/s. My
[Link]
3. RESPONSIBILTY:
Trained Operator/Trained pest & Rodent control agency operator is
responsible for carrying out the activities and recording the results.
HOD-HRD or a person assigned by him/her is responsible for preparation &
training of the operator on SOP and execution of the activity as per the
SOP.
QA personnel is responsible for the implementation , review and
maintenance of the records HOD-QA is responsible for the approval of the
SOP.
4. MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENTY:
Safety goggles.
Hand gloves & helmet.
Safety shoes & Nose mask.
Hand operated gel gun.
5. PROCEDURE:
5.1. GENERAL INSTUCTIONS:
All employees shall cooperative and be willing to participate in the pest
control services.
Any deviation /deficiency in housekeeping practice / procedure shall be
informed immediately to the housekeeping supervisor and to the HRD of
the concerned department for necessary action.

Wear the nose mask, hand gloves, goggles, helmet and shoes.
Read the chemical label carefully and the follow the instructions.
Check the equipment for the proper functioning.
6. COCROACH GEL TREATMENT:
Frequency: For every quarter, only in the inside of the building
This will be carried out to control the cockroach infection using a gel
application.
The treatment does not have any toxic affects and does not have any
odor.
Gel baits (Fipronil / Imidacloprid) with gel applicator is applied wherever
the infestation.
Concentrate the areas like Cubical areas, office premises, cupboards, lab
areas.
7. LIZARD CONTROL SERVICES:
Frequency: Once in 2 months.
The treatment is carried out to the premises where the Lizards are
noticed.
The Bifenthrine is used for control of the Lizard with concentration of
20Ml/L.
The Pest management is carried out by spraying in nooks corners of the
buildings.
The spraying is carried out using Bifenthrine at a concentration of 20Ml/L.
8. RODENT CONTROL SERVICES:
Frequency: Once in 15 days.
Rodents are controlled using Bromadiolone at 0.005% w/w concentration,
in the form of weatherproof blocks highly attractive and palatable to
rodents.

Ready to use bait shall be placed and are monitored fortnightly.
The dead Rats/ Mice will be removed taken outside the premises for the
disposal.
9. FLY CONTROL SERVICES:
Frequency: Once in 2 days.
This is done by spraying special insecticidal formulation in places in and
around the building, garbage disposal area, wash areas, entry points near
the door and shutters.
This is done by using Deltamethrine at a concentration of 10Ml/L.
10. SPIDER CONTROL SERVICES:
Spider forms Cob webs on the roof areas and corners of the wall and floor
junctions.
Cob web cleaning by conventional methods shall be employed on daily
basis.
Chemcal treatment with bifenthrine is used for the control of the Spider
with a concentration of 20Ml/L.
11. HOUSEHOLD PEST CONTROL SERVICES:
Frequency: Monthly once
Measure 5-10mL Deltamethrine per liter of water using measuring
cylinder
Concentration the areas like canteen, drains, manholes, and toilets.
After spraying the areas, remove the balance chemical from spary pump
and pour it back to the chemical container and rinse the empty container
it with water.
12. SNAKE CONTROL TREATMENT:
Freaquency : Twice in a month
This is done by spaying the carbolic acid around the buildings and snake
mounds.

This is done by using Carbolic acid at a concentration of 10mL/L.
13. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:
Pour the measured chemical in the spary pump through the filter cap.
Avoid spillage of the pesticide solution while filling the spary pump and
tightly close the filler cap.
Pump for sufficient pressure and correct if any leak is found.
Spray the chemical to get the knock-down effect.
After spraying the areas, remove the balance chemical from spary pump
and pour it back to the chemical container and rinse the empty container
it with water.
Clean the nozzle. Remove all the PPEs.
All the MSDS for the chemical shall be Provided and available with HR and
administration department.
All the anti-dotes shall be stored in HR and Administration department.
14. USED CONTAINER DIPOSAL:
Close the container tightly after using the product.
Keep the used container secured conditions.
The best way to dispose off small amounts of excess pestisides to use to
them. Apply them according to the directions on the table.
Never pour left over pesticides down the sink, soil. Into the toilet, or
down a sewer or a street drain.
Never puncture or burn a pressurized container like an aerosol. It could be
explode.

Do cut or puncture other empty pesticide containers (other than
pressurized cans) made of metal plastic to prevent someone from reusing
those.
Carry the used container to INDIAN PEST CARE SERVICES for collection &
further disposal.
Finally these used to concentrate shall sent for proper disposal to
Hyderabad waste management group. Which is a certified body for such
waste disposal and who undertake incineration/ burial jobs for their
members.
Follow the guidelines to dispose used pesticide container as per clause
no.44 of insecticide rules 1971 GSR 1650.
15. PEST DISPOSAL, FREQUENCY OF TREATMENT:
Immediately as died insects, pests are observed
Wear the disposable gloves. Never touch the Rodent with bare hands.
Observe the area surrounding the dead rodent for rodent hairs and
droppings.
Get a plastic bag/ disposable container to collect the trapped / died
rodent.
Use the tong to capture the rodent and put it in the disposable bag/
container.
Spary the area with odour the neutralizer from where dead rodent was
collected.
Inform housekeeping department/admin manager on cleaning the area
from where the rodent was collected to remove hairs, dropping etc.

Carry the collected rodents outside the main plant building.
Dispose the dead rodent by burying it in soil at least 1 ft below the ground
level away from the main plant building (at least 100 meters away)
After disposal wash the hands thoroughly with soap & apply sanitizer.
