Chapter One – The Spark Beneath the Shop Lights
As I stepped out of the church on that chilly January Sabbath evening, I felt an inexplicable sense of purpose. The air was cool and
refreshing as I quickened my pace, eager to reach my father’s cosmetics shop, Baliluno General Cosmetics. The glowing sign above
the door greeted me like an old friend. I smiled, feeling I was exactly where I was meant to be.
Opening the shop, a warm orange glow spilled onto the sidewalk, drawing in the evening crowd. Customers came and went, but one
face stood out—a light-skinned girl of medium build and height, wearing a baggy tracksuit. She walked up to the shop with ease. Her
face seemed familiar.
"Hi," she greeted softly.
"Hi," I replied, keeping my voice calm even as I felt a subtle spark between us.
She was looking for a hair spray, and I carefully listed the prices, trying to stay composed despite the growing sense of connection.
Wanting to confirm my suspicion, I asked if she was the same person who had purchased braids in December. Her gentle reply made
my heart race.
We chatted further, and I recommended a lotion to soothe her itchy scalp. When she admitted she couldn't apply it herself, I invited
her to sit inside the shop. A simple white plastic chair awaited her.
As I applied the lotion, my fingers gently touched her skin, sending a spark of attraction through me. Our conversation flowed easily,
like a soft summer breeze. But time was fleeting. As she prepared to leave, I hesitated, then asked for her number, eager to maintain
our connection. She shared it, and I wrote it down, quietly taking in her beautiful features. She thanked me for my help and walked
away, disappearing into the depths of the evening.
I remained cheerful but fought the urge to call her that night, choosing instead to focus on customers until closing time at 11 p.m.
After turning off the lights, I drifted off to sleep.
The next morning, I woke up joyful, recalling the previous day's encounter. I hadn’t yet saved her number to my phone—a task that
suddenly seemed very important. I quickly grabbed my phone and saved her number under the name: Yvonne Betty.
As I finished organizing the shop, I pondered my first message to her, hoping to catch her attention. My fingers danced across the
screen as I typed:
"Good morning, Betty. It’s me, Simon—yesterday’s guy."
Minutes passed. I tried to pretend I had given up hope, but deep down I waited eagerly. Then my phone vibrated. My heart leapt.
"Hmmm... Good morning, Simon. Hope I’m not mistaken."
Elated, I called her immediately. My heart pounded as I waited for her to pick up. To my relief, she did. Our voices were calm as we
exchanged greetings again. The conversation flowed easily, like a stream weaving through the valley of our hearts.
Throughout the day, we kept checking on each other through texts and calls whenever we had a moment to spare.
As night approached, I called her again. We shared our thoughts and feelings, slowly revealing our hearts to one another. We even
spoke about our love languages—hers was kissing, mine was cuddling. She told me her favorite color was purple; mine was teal.
What a beautiful combination, I thought.
She confided that she had never met anyone like me—someone who could draw words out of her so effortlessly. Our conversation
felt genuine and natural, like a summer breeze.
Before ending the call, she suggested we pray for our connection. I agreed, my heart full of joy. She led the prayer, asking God to
sustain us. Her words touched me deeply. My affection for her grew like a blossoming rose.
We wished each other goodnight, exchanging sweet words like a lullaby. I repeated her name softly as I drifted off to sleep.
The next morning, a gentle warmth woke me. As I began my daily routine of preparing the shop, my phone vibrated with a message.
My heart raced as I saw it was from her.
"Good morning, Mr. Charming. I guess by this time you're always awake."
We exchanged messages, our conversation flowing effortlessly. She told me she had slept peacefully, thanks to our previous night's
talk. She also shared a dream she'd had—sitting on a peak, peacefully eating ice cream, while I sat across from her.
I replied with joy, knowing our bond was growing stronger. She also thanked me for the lotion, mentioning that her scalp no longer
itched. I welcomed her gratitude with confidence.
Soon, texting wasn't enough, and I called her. We laughed together as we spoke. She even promised to prepare my favorite dish that
very night.
Unfortunately, later that evening, she called to explain she wouldn’t be able to bring the exact meal but would deliver a different
package instead. I didn’t mind—what mattered was seeing her again.
That evening, time seemed to crawl. Every tick of my watch felt like an eternity. At 8:44 p.m., I received her message:
"Hey, can I come?"
"Yes, you can. At the supermarket," I replied.
She messaged again:
"No, I'm coming to the junction that goes up where your route... right?"
Sadly, I missed that message and was already heading to the supermarket.
When I arrived, I didn’t see her and grew confused. Had I been stood up? Still, I gave her the benefit of the doubt. Searching
anxiously through the crowd, I thought I caught a glimpse of her, though I wasn’t sure. I rushed toward her, ready to call out.
As I reached her, I gently tapped her shoulder with my fingertips. Startled, she turned and saw me.
"You're really bad," she said softly, her disappointment clear.
I quickly apologized, offering reassuring words. She forgave me, and I received my mysterious package. We exchanged bittersweet
goodbyes, and I watched her disappear into the night, filled with both regret and happiness.
When I returned to the shop, I eagerly unwrapped the package. A savory aroma greeted me. Inside was a serving of chips, carefully
packed alongside a small packet of tomato sauce. It was simple, but to me, it felt like a treasure. I savored each bite, feeling deeply
grateful for her kindness.
After finishing, I snapped a photo of the plate and muttered to myself: "Sweet! Tasty!" My heart full, I called her to express my
thanks. As we spoke, our connection grew even stronger.
Before ending the call, I playfully asked if she would love and accept me as her own. She said yes, though she admitted she wasn’t yet
ready for a relationship. I felt both happy and slightly disappointed.
As midnight approached, I couldn’t sleep. Memories of our evening replayed in my mind. Though I resisted the urge to call her, my
fingers moved quickly, dialing her number.
To my surprise, she answered. We spoke softly, sharing secrets in the stillness of the night. She confessed that it had been a long
time since she had talked to someone so late.
Then, in a moment of pure emotion, she whispered:
"I love you."
My heart skipped. Time stood still. I was too stunned to respond. In her nervousness, she ended the call.
Minutes later, she sent me a message apologizing for what she had said and wished me goodnight. I didn’t reply—I wanted to give
her space and let her rest.
Though uncertainty lingered, I knew her words were a spark waiting to ignite something beautiful. My interest in her remained
strong.
Chapter Two – The Kiss That Sealed the Silence
As Chapter One closed, the whispers of a blossoming connection between Yvonne Betty and me lingered in the air. The delicate
dance of emotions, trust, and vulnerability had just begun. Something special was forming, yet still fragile. As our story continued, a
deeper layer began to unfold—a bond that would redefine the path of our relationship.
Days turned into weeks. Our long phone calls, playful questions, and growing intimacy intertwined like vines wrapping gently around
our hearts. Every conversation brought us closer.
One day, teasingly, I broached a sensitive topic.
"Would you kiss me?" I asked, my heart pounding beneath my playful tone.
She laughed softly, her voice like wind chimes dancing in the breeze.
"Ummm…, I would kiss you," she replied confidently, sending shivers down my spine.
I couldn’t help but push further. "When would you kiss me?" I asked, still teasing but curious.
"Anytime, anywhere," she answered without hesitation.
Her openness both surprised and thrilled me. She had embraced something I once told her—that life's most beautiful moments
often happen spontaneously.
The day of our evening walk arrived, and time seemed to crawl. I couldn’t wait to see her again, to hold her hand, to look into her
eyes.
After work, I made my way to the street near a small event garden where we had agreed to meet. My heart raced. I wore my blue
jeans and a black short-sleeved shirt, feeling both confident and eager.
From a distance, I saw her approaching. Her smile lit up the evening air. But as we greeted each other, I noticed she was wearing a
shower cap, which made her feel slightly embarrassed.
"Sorry about this," she apologized shyly, lowering her gaze.
"It’s okay. People forget things sometimes—don’t blame yourself," I reassured her gently.
To ease her nerves, I playfully grabbed the cap from her hand. "This belongs to me now, not you!" I joked. She laughed softly, like a
baby playfully disturbed, trying to retrieve it as I passed it from one hand to the other.
We walked together down the quiet street, our conversation flowing like a gentle stream. We shared thoughts, dreams, and secrets
as the evening air wrapped around us like a soft blanket. The street was mostly empty, creating a quiet sense of privacy.
Eventually, we reached a point where we turned to head back. On our return, I dared her to look into my eyes without blinking for a
full minute. She tried but failed, her eyes fluttering closed each time as she laughed silently.
After a few more playful attempts, we continued walking, the joy of being together filling the space between us.
Though the walk was sweet, I sensed the unspoken thought lingering between us—the kiss. I feared bringing it up, but I knew she
was thinking about it too as she gently mentioned it was time for her to head home.
We stopped near some residential apartments, their soft lights casting a cozy atmosphere around us.
"Would you mind if I gave you my kiss?" she asked softly, her voice barely above a whisper.
My heart skipped. I looked into her eyes and asked gently, "Shall we move somewhere more private, away from prying eyes?"
Hand in hand, we slipped quietly between the apartments, seeking a secluded spot. The silence around us was almost sacred.
We stood facing each other. The world seemed to vanish, leaving just the two of us suspended in a moment of pure possibility.
I stepped closer. She didn’t move away. Our eyes locked in quiet understanding as desire and nervous excitement sparkled between
us.
And then, like a dream unfolding, our lips met. Time stood still. The world held its breath. The kiss was electric—a harmony of hearts,
a union of souls.
I wrapped my right hand behind her neck, my left arm around her waist, drawing her close as our lips moved in perfect rhythm, like
dancers following an unspoken melody.
The world around us faded; only the sensation of the kiss remained—soft, warm, and powerful.
As we finally pulled apart, breathing softly, we gazed into each other's eyes, knowing without words that our bond was now real. This
kiss was more than romance—it was a promise, a quiet pledge of something beautiful beginning.
The stars above twinkled, the streetlights glowed warmly, and crickets sang their quiet song.
"I should get going," she whispered.
"It’s okay. We move," I replied, taking her hand once again as we strolled back together.
As we neared her home, I felt reluctant to let the night end. She turned to me with playful mischief in her eyes.
"I'm sorry… but I think we leave it," she said, her voice husky.
"Leave what? Feel free to say it," I encouraged her gently.
(She sighed). "It’s like… I still want more," she confessed softly.
"Me too," I replied, my heart pounding once again. But my work called, and I couldn’t stay longer.
With a sigh, she wished me good night. We parted with a promise, a tender seal on our growing love.
Walking back to work beneath the starry sky, I felt changed. I had found not only a potential partner but also a dear friend—
someone whose connection with me shone like a guiding star, promising to light our journey ahead through life’s joys and challenges.
Reflecting on my journey with Yvonne Betty, I’m reminded of the delicate dance we shared—a journey of trust, vulnerability, and
connection. From her very first message, "Good morning, Mr. Charming," I sensed something special in her.
As we navigated the highs and lows of growing closer, I fell for her charming personality, her laughter, and her kind, gentle heart.
Though she remains cautious, fearing disappointment, I’ve learned that love is not about rushing but about cherishing every step
along the way.
Our bond remains strong, our connection unshaken. Though she says she’s not yet ready, her actions speak loudly—green flags
waving high, showing me that our love is real and worth the wait.
