2.0 Responsibilities

3.0 Interfacing
• Site Manager:
o Coordination with Technical Office Manager to ensure timely availability and approval of materials and
shop drawings in collaboration with Quality Manager.
o Site Engineers:
o Ongoing liaison with Surveyors concerning overall setting out and with Foreman (subcontractor)
regarding progress of work.
o QC Engineers:
o Ongoing liaison with Site Engineers concerning work progression and adherence to stipulated
requirements of the shop drawings, method statements, approved materials, and PIP.
4.0 Sequencing
QUALITY CONTROL
- Inspection and Testing Plan
Before start Wooden Doors, Inspection and Testing Plan shall be established to keep proper quality of
the works in accordance with specification and standard. ITP shall be submitted to the Engineer for
approval.
- Delivery Inspection
After deliver the materials to the site, delivery inspection shall be conducted with witnessed by the Engineer.
Frequency of delivery inspection shall be indicated in the ITP.
5.0 Methodology
5.1 Purpose
To define the method and controls used to ensure the correct installation of steel handrails in line
with approved drawings, safety procedures, and quality requirements.

5.2 Scope of Work
Includes internal/external handrails fabricated from steel or stainless steel with related welding,
drilling, painting, anchoring, and cleaning activities. Covers terrace glass handrails and staircase
wall-mounted types.
5.3 Specifications and References

5.4 Submittals

5.5 General Handrail Description
Handrails include:
• Floor-mounted steel handrails using base plates
• Stainless steel wall-mounted rails for staircases
• Terrace glass handrails with steel posts, caps, brackets, and anchors
Handrails will be finished with approved protective coatings or hot-dip galvanizing, and fireproofed
as required.
5.6 Fabrication
• Cutting of pipes/tubes using cold saw/CNC tools
• Welding of joints per WPS
• Grinding of sharp edges and smoothing surfaces
• Base plates with anchor holes and gussets as per load requirements
• Finishing includes:
o Hot-dip galvanization (min. 70 µm)
o Epoxy + Polyurethane 3-coat system (total DFT > 200 µm)
o Fireproofing as specified in architectural documents

5.7 Storage and Handling
• Store off-ground, dry, and shaded
• Use pallets or wooden spacers
• Identify all segments with tags
• Use nylon straps/lifting gear to prevent surface damage
5.8 Installation Procedure
• Verify locations and layout using laser level
• Drill for mechanical/chemical anchors
• Fix brackets/base plates with alignment checks
• Install handrails section by section
• Perform welding or bolting
• Verify stability, level, and finish
• Apply touch-up at welded joints
5.9 Surface Finishing and Touch-up
• Clean weld-affected zones
• Apply same coating system (primer + finish)
• Verify DFT using Elcometer
• Final polish or cleaning for stainless items
5.10 Accessories and Anchors
• Expansion bolts (e.g., Hilti HSA)
• Chemical anchors (e.g., Hilti HIT-RE 500)
• Brackets, end caps, glass clamps, support plates
• Stainless steel hardware for external areas
5.11 Protection Measures
