Friend #1 Mikaela Reyne, 10 Answer: Reflection:
(10-13 yrs old) 1. I initially felt anxious due to
my lack of understanding
concerning the changes
occurring in my body;
nevertheless, as I progressed
through the process, I learned
that it is a normal experience.
2. As part of the usual
process, I thought it was
simply a natural occurrence
that would not really disturb
me.
3. To avoid having too many
things going on at once, I
make sure I finish and turn in
my schoolwork on time.
4. In order to avoid thinking
too much about school, I
spend time with individuals
who are happy like my
friends.
Question # 2:
Friend # 2 Fatima Chavez, Answer: Reflection:
15
1. In the beginning, I
(Age 14-17) experienced anxiety since I
did not have a good
knowledge of the changes
that were taking place in my
body. However, as I continued
through the process, I
realized that this is a normal
experience that people go
through.
2. I believed that it was a
natural occurrence that would
not cause me any major
trouble, as it was an ordinary
aspect of the process.
3. As a student, I began
through improving my time
management skills, including
setting up of timetables and
designating certain periods for
study. I prioritize projects by
concentrating on the most
urgent or demanding
assignments first to lessen
last-minute stress.
4. Teenagers like me learn
ways to calm down when they
have anxiety, like writing in a
book, practicing meditation, or
talking to a parent, teacher, or
friend that we trust. Realizing
that feeling anxious is a
normal reaction to some
situations.
Question # 3
Friend # 3 Darlene Chavez Answer: Reflection:
(18 – above) 1. I was really scared at that
time, especially when I got my
first period. I learned along the
way that it is normal, though.
2. With the fact that it was an
ordinary aspect of the process,
I was under the impression
that it was a natural
occurrence that would not
result in any major issues for
me.
3. When I'm feeling really
anxious, it might help to get my
mind back on track by doing
calming exercises like deep
breathing or focusing on things
I can control. Another common
way I deal with my worry is by
going to treatment or talking to
friends and family.
4. Even though excitement is a
good feeling, it needs to be
controlled so that it doesn't get
too much. When young adults
are excited, they often do
useful things, like making a
plan for how to reach a goal or
sharing their interest with
others because they want to
make a difference. They can
keep their focus and sense of
purpose while managing the
energy that comes with
excitement. This gives them
the chance to learn how to be
grounded while enjoying good
times.
