The word essay comes the from French 'essai' to try or to attempt.
• Definition:•
The essay is an attempt to communicate information,opinion or [Link] is usually presents
argument about a topic.

1)Unity:•
An essay must have unity developing one theme with a definite purpose.
2)Order:•
The essay should follow a certain ordered line of thought with a definite conclusion.
3) Style:•
The style should be conversational essay , natural and familiar . The language should be simple.
4)Brevity:•
An essay should not be too long .It should be brief and to the point.
5)Personal touch:•
The essay should reveal the personal feelings and opinion of the writer . Without
personal touch, the essay will be colorless and tasteless.

Traditional Academic Essay
1) Introduction:•
An introduction is usually the first paragraph of your academic essay.
If you are writing an essay you might need to introduce your topic to your reader a good essay introduce
two things
a) Get reader attention:• One can get reader attention by telling a story
providing statistics pointing out something strange or interesting. Be interesting and find some original
angle to engage other in your topic.
b) Thesis statement:•
It is usually starting point of the introduction in which you tell the reader what are
you going to defend or argue against with evidence through out the essay. It should be linked with
conclusion
2)The body paragraph:•
It help you prove your thesis and more you along from introduction to your
conclusion. If your thesis is a simple one you might not need a lot of body paragraph. If it is more
complicated you need more body paragraph.
3)The conclusion:•
