A description of your town
We are going to get vacation soon. If you like and you have wish, I want to invite you to sightsee my
lovely town, Mandalay. It is the second largest city of Myanmar. It is situated on the east bank of the
Ayeyarwaddy River and also in the Mandalay District. King Mindon founded it as a new royal capital at the
foot of Mandalay Hill in 1857. It was also a place that dignified the Kong Baung dynasty.
It is a nice and lovely city. It is also the major trading center in Myanmar and also a tourist attraction.
It has historical places and is famous for traditional costume, food, craft, and so on. When you arrive at
Mandalay, you should visit Mahamuni pagoda. It is one of the most important religious places of Buddhism
with monasteries and religious buildings and museums. It still remains lovely tradition about Myanmar. You
can only see our custom, religion and belief in Mandalay.
Mandalay is a central city in upper Myanmar. It has wet and dry season. The temperature is so high.
It is very convenient in transportation. You can use any transportation to go somewhere in Mandalay. This is
a very satisfying point.
It has shopping malls, good and cheap restaurants, delicious local food, friendly street vendors.
Especially, the people from Mandalay have sweet smiles and warmth. You will feel safe, perfect and
hospitable. When you visit Mandalay, you have to do many things that can make you happy and pleased.

Your family moved Yangon for your father’s job at the first semester of first year. Since that time, we

Now, I am working as an assistant teacher at private school. Do you remember Aung Naing? He’s a business
man with two children. Khaing joined nursing diploma after university. Now, she’s a nurse and she’s also
going to marry next two months. You will get shock if you know who she’s going to marry with. That one is
Thaw Kha. And I still have a lot of surprising things for you. The most one of these is that I’ve got a cute
little baby now. I used to tomboy at university as you know. Finally, I found my true life and real love.
OK! Now I’m so happy to contact with you again. I want to know everything about you. Write me back. I’m

An enjoyable birthday party
Last year I celebrated my birthday exactly the way I wanted to. My parents had told me that I could
ask them for anything on my birthday and I asked them to arrange a grand party for my friends. My mother
is my best friend when I invite my friends home. She helped me to make invitation cards and to fill them up
with names.
My mother took me to the market and we bought balloons and streamers, masks and caps etc. to
decorate the house with. We ordered the cake and bought wrapping paper along with the return presents. As
we reached home we sat down to work. We put up the streamers with tape and hung the balloons all over the
walls and on the fans and doors and windows. We arranged the masks and caps in such a way that each
friend of mine would pick one of his choices. My mother spent the whole day in the kitchen cooking for all
my friends.
The cake arrived in the evening and soon my friends started pouring in. My father arranged some
games for them and he became the referee for all our games. He arranged musical chairs, passing the parcel,
follow the leader, dumb charades etc. and all the children enjoyed themselves. We had our tea after I cut the
cake. The cake was a beautiful house with colourful icing and big chunks of chocolate I was drowned in
gifts once my friends left and l went to bed with the satisfaction of having enjoyed the best birth day party of
my life.
