PROJECTS ENGINEER

Applications are invited from suitable qualified candidates to fill three (3) positions
in our Technical Services department: two (2) Project Engineer: Civil positions on
a 36-month contract basis and one (1) Project Engineer: Civil position on a
permanent basis. All roles will report to the Projects Manager: Civil.

MAIN PURPOSE
The Project Engineer: Civil is responsible for developing, planning, designing, and
commissioning all water and wastewater infrastructure construction projects. The
incumbent participates in project identification, project integration, cost estimating,
design and review of plans, specifications, and construction inspection.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
• Membership of an internationally recognized professional institution of engineers
with completion of approved pupilage (or equivalent).
• PMI certification.
• 5 years post qualification experience in a wide range of civil engineering activities in
the wastewater and or potable water services industry.
• 2-3 years’ supervisory or middle management experience.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

• Knowledge of design concepts, computer-aided design and other related design


software and project management.
• Have strong project management skills since they will be responsible for planning,
scheduling, coordinating, and overseeing construction projects. This includes
budgeting, estimating costs, scheduling work, and ensuring that projects are
completed on time and within budget.
• Have good problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse complex data and designs.
Be able to assess the feasibility of a project, identify potential problems, and come up
with effective solutions.
