[Partial Excerpt from Long Tersar Ngndro: Taking the Empowerments

From the Om in the teachers forehead arises a white ray of light like a shooting star.

Through being absorbed into one's forehead, the obscurations of the body channels are purified. One receives the precious Vase Empowerment into the Body of Enlightenment. One's physical body is blessed as the play of the Body of Indestructibility. The fortune to attain the stage of the Body of Emanations is placed in one's continuum. From the Ah in the throat, a red ray of light leaps out like lightening! Through being absorbed into one's throat, the obscurations of the speech/ energy airs are purified. One receives the sacred voice empowerment. Ones ordinary speaking is blessed as the play of indestructible sacred word. The fortune to attain the sacred Body of Flawless Exaltation is placed in ones mind stream. From the Hung in the wisdom heart blue black rays like a mass of clouds arise. Through being absorbed into ones heart, the obscurations of the mind tigle are purified. One receives primordially wakeful supreme wisdom-mind empowerment. Ones mind is blessed as the play of Vajra-mind. The fortune to attain the stage of the dimensionless dimension is placed in ones continuum. Once again from the teachers enlightened heart the non-conceptual form of realities essence.

Arises as a five colored orb of all-encompassing vital wisdom essence. And is absorbed into the center of my heart, completely purifying the two obscurations and all habitual tendencies. Receiving the precious sacred-word empowerment. Being blessed into the completely perfected Beatific sphere of all of the Victorious Buddhas inexhaustible qualities and miraculous activities. The opportunity to attain the stage of the Svabhavavikakaya is placed in my mind stream. .... The Lama dissolves into the quintessential ecstasy five colored light| An orb the size of a thumbnail dissolving into the center of my heart, my worldly mind transforms into the lamas enlightened wisdom mind indivisibly|] The Enlightened Body Speech and Mind empowerments are wholly and perfectly obtained.

Vajra Guru Kaya Waka Tsitta Siddhi Hung

Thus the four empowerments are received

The Lama melts into light dissolves into me indivisibly unconditionally The awareness without construct my true nature is seen
Thus the Lama concentrates within: rest evenly|

Lord of limitless light to you I pray

Bless me with mastery over the profound path of Powa

Thus by reciting this many times the powa aspiration is made|

Now with my body and wealth, my very roots of virtue Without holding back I offer to all beings as if my mother So unobstructed great waves of benefit may ensue.
Thus. . . pray fervantly with enlightened aspirations etc.| Thus the Tersar Ngondro for those who do not understand the expanded meaning of mantra or are unable to do the Long Ngodro and clarifies the essential meaning in a Concise Recitation of the Preliminary Practice by Jigdral Yeshe Dorje. Yet also, for those desiring some elaboration having never even seen the long Ngodro, or not having the time to pursue it, desiring some elaboration I, the most deluded of Dudjoms disciples, have inserted some clarifying passages from the long ngodro without permission from anyone but my inner desire to benefit. May the results of any mistakes rain upon me and all benifits shine upon others. dPal.
