Some people claim that public museum and art galleries will not be needed because

people can see historical objects and work of arts by using a computer. Do you agree or
disagree with this opinion?

Answer

Some people argue that open sources of art such as museum and galleries are no longer
necessary due to the online availability of historical objects and piece of arts. From my
perspective, I do not agree with this statement due to some following reasons.

Firstly, the in-person experience of seeing works of history and art guarantees the credibility.
As a matter of fact, every center displaying historical vestige and piece of arts is always
inspected and monitored by Department of Culture. Compared to online materials, which
may cause confusion among virtual visitors due to its diverse and unverified source, public
museum and art galleries provides physical visitors with authoritative source from
recognized experts and institutions. For example, in several big cities in Vietnam such as
Hanoi, where locates Vietnam Museum of Ethology. This museum is continuously examined
by cultural authority to guarantee its substantiated source, therefore, they are able to build
trust and become a place of interest among art enthusiats.

Another reason is that attendees of history and art exihibition can receive a exclusive sense
of full immersion and tangible connection. In reality, seeing a historical object firsthand,
people are able to peer it to see the details and even touch it. Hence they can fully realize
the beauty of that item, which would be beautiful not only because of its vintage vibe but
also the stories of some marks and scars behind it. This brings about the true sense of
relishing the beauty of a piece of art and historical object, which can not replaced by any
digital materials.

Some people argue that many exhibitions open their materials for their remote art viewers,
thus going to the site is unnecessary. However, they do not consider the coverage of online
materials where contains diverse websites for online attendees. Meanwhile, some phising
websites disguise as the real ones with their sotisphicated technology, potentially confuses
online viewers and even steal personal data.

In conclusion, the availability of online materials for historical objects and work of arts is
diversve, however its credibility is a concerning issue. Therefore, it is my firm belief that
exhibitions and galleries should be opened so that visitors have the real experience without
considering the authority of its work of art.
