TALKING ABOUT EXPERIENCE

Travelling is more than just visiting new places; it's about immersing
oneself in diverse cultures, tasting unfamiliar cuisines, and embracing
the unknown. Each journey offers unique encounters, whether it's
witnessing a breathtaking sunrise over ancient ruins, engaging in
heartfelt conversations with locals, or navigating bustling markets
filled with vibrant colours and sounds. These experiences not only
broaden our horizons but also foster personal growth, teaching us
adaptability, empathy, and resilience. Ultimately, travel enriches our
lives, creating memories that linger long after the trip ends and
instilling a deep appreciation for the world's vast tapestry of traditions
and landscapes. Travelling is more than just visiting new places; it's

Most people agree travelling is a good thing. People think it’s
exciting, almost invigorating to travel. Travelling is the best way to
learn new things, whether it be a new language or new culture
because you’re experiencing it firsthand instead of just reading or
looking at pictures. It broadens your view of the world. For me
travelling means stress and anxiety (both of which I try to block out).
Travelling means being out of my comfort zone, especially when I’m
with people I barely know; in this case, I was travelling with my aunt,
uncle and cousin. Growing up I was a sheltered child so travelling
meant leaving the familiarity of home and the people who kept me
safe. I wasn’t one for travelling even the smallest of distances; I stared
straight at the top right corner of the screen in front of me. “Inhale for
four counts, hold for seven, exhale for eight,” she would say over the
phone whenever this happened. “It’s okay, you’ll be okay,” I exhaled.
“The second step is to stop negative thoughts; focus on the positive
and don’t forget to breathe.” I sat back in the stiff airplane seat. The
roof of the plane was not going to fall on me. The exits are not going
to fly open and suck everyone and everything out, effectively
throwing us out into the ocean. The most positive thought I could
come up with was the thought of my grandparents. The point of the
trip was to see them. They were the ones who took care of me when
my parents were busy working. They were getting older and I had
been told my grandfather was losing his memory. My mom wanted
me to see them before it was too late. I kept telling myself I had to be
there for them for all the times they were there for me. Security check
and waiting to board the plane was all a blur.

Global Warming: A Serious Issue

Global warming is when the Earth’s temperature rises because of

human activities. The main reaaaason is the burning of fossil fuels
like coal, oil, and gas, which release gases such as carbon dioxide
(CO2) into the air. These gases trap heat in the atmosphere, making
the Earth warmer.

One of the biggest problems caused by global warming is the

changing weather. The Earth’s temperature has already increased by
about 1.1°C since the late 1800s. This may not seem like much, but it
has led to more extreme weather events, such as stronger storms,
longer heatwaves, and heavier rainfall. For example, in recent years,
wildfires in places like California and Australia have become more
common because of hotter and drier conditions.

Another problem is the melting of ice at the poles. As temperatures

rise, glaciers and ice sheets are melting, causing sea levels to rise.
This puts coastal cities and small island countries at risk of flooding.
Also, animals like polar bears, who rely on ice to live and hunt, are
losing their homes.

Global warming also affects people’s lives. It can damage crops,

which leads to food shortages and higher prices. It also causes water
shortages, especially in areas that are already dry. Poorer countries are
the most affected because they don’t have the resources to deal with
these changes.

To help stop global warming, we need to take action. We can reduce

the use of fossil fuels by using renewable energy sources like wind
and solar power. It’s also important to use energy more efficiently,
recycle, and drive less.
In conclusion, global warming is a serious problem that affects
everyone. It is caused by human activities, and if we don’t act now, it
will lead to even bigger problems in the future. By making small
changes in our daily lives and supporting policies that protect the
environment, we can help reduce global warming and create a better
world for future generations.

The Importance of Physical Education: Promoting Health and

Wellness

Physical Education (PE) is an essential aspect of the educational

curriculum that plays a crucial role in shaping the overall well-being
of students. It goes beyond simply learning sports or exercises—it is a
foundational element that helps students develop physically, mentally,
and socially. Here’s why physical education is vital in the modern
world.

Physical Health Benefits

One of the primary reasons for incorporating PE in school is to

improve students' physical health. Regular physical activity enhances
cardiovascular health, builds strength, and promotes flexibility. It also
helps combat childhood obesity, a growing concern worldwide. By
participating in PE activities, students learn the importance of staying
active and develop habits that will benefit them throughout their lives.

Mental and Emotional Growth

Physical education also has significant benefits for mental health.
Exercise releases endorphins, which are chemicals in the brain that
reduce stress and improve mood. Students who engage in physical
activities tend to experience lower levels of anxiety and depression.
PE encourages a positive self-image, boosts self-esteem, and helps
students build resilience and discipline.

Social Skills Development

Another advantage of PE is its role in promoting social interaction.

Through team sports and group activities, students develop important
skills such as teamwork, communication, leadership, and cooperation.
These interactions foster a sense of community and inclusiveness,
making PE a great way to build friendships and a supportive social
environment.

Lifelong Benefits

Perhaps the most significant benefit of physical education is that it

instills habits and attitudes that last a lifetime. By teaching students
the importance of physical activity and encouraging them to
participate in various sports, PE creates opportunities for lifelong
engagement in physical fitness. Whether it’s running, swimming, or
playing basketball, students who enjoy being active are more likely to
continue these habits as adults, leading to long-term health benefits.

Conclusion

Physical education is not just a break from academics; it is a critical

component in the development of well-rounded individuals. It fosters
physical health, mental well-being, and social interaction. By
prioritizing PE in schools, we equip students with the tools to lead
healthy, active, and fulfilling lives.
14. TRAVEL PROBLEMS
Suitcase missing:

After hours of flying and finally landing at the airport in Kerala, all I
wanted was to grab my suitcase and head out to start my trip. But
instead, I found myself standing helplessly by the baggage carousel,
watching everyone else collect their luggage while mine never
showed up. The longer I waited, the more anxious and frustrated I
felt. How could my suitcase just vanish?

I made my way to the lost baggage counter, tired and irritated. I gave
them every detail—flight info, the baggage tag, a full description of
my suitcase. They filed a report and gave me a reference number, but
honestly, it felt like a generic response. I didn’t want a number. I
wanted my stuff.

All my essentials were in that bag—clothes, chargers, even a few

gifts. Now, instead of enjoying my first day in Kerala, I’m chasing
customer service numbers, filling out forms, and stressing over
whether my suitcase will ever make it back to me. I’m trying to stay
calm, but it’s hard not to feel completely let down.
I know lost luggage happens, but it doesn’t make it any less
infuriating. Right now, I’m just hoping they find it soon—because
this is not how I imagined starting my trip.
