Narrative Report of Accomplishment
As a student, I know how tiring sometimes having a task was but as I entered in this kind
of project, it really made me believe how sweet sweats are. This project changed and developed
my skills as a leader and a member of our community. Working in this kind of scheme was really
a hard one denying the fact that I’m a student, a researcher and a class president at the same time.
Sometimes I face a lot of challenges and breakdowns that make me weak but they just make me
braver and stronger to face the new challenges in my life. In my journey in this project, I learned
a lot of lessons that make me a better person now. Yes, schedules ware really hard for me,
because of that different hardships will come and may appear, I always struggle with time
management and setting priorities, but with the help of my beloved family, my friends and the
people around me or in short, my community, I can say that I finally made it and it’s really worth
the pains I’ve been.
Let me share to you my journey, so here it goes, I started gathering some data that will
help me find my area of work in the scheme. I was lucky to find my workplace because it’s my
barangay so it would be easy for me in such things like I can visit it every week or everyday after
I went to school. So, I came to the barangay official and the Day Care Center’s teacher to inform
that I will implement a project and fortunately, they allow me to initiate the said project. After
weeks of planning, I, together with my mother, cousins, friends, relatives and my troop leader
with the help of barangay officials did the kick off ceremony of my project, I explained to them
my plans and my intentions in doing this kind of scheme. After that, we started cleaning and
creating a plot for the vegetables that we are going to plant. We planted some mustasa, okra,
eggplant, string beans, bell peppers, and tomato seeds. Then, I asked to our construction worker
neighbor to smooth the wall beside our garden. Weeks passed by and the seeds that we planted
have grown. We continuously water and take care of them. Also, I started collecting 1.5 plastic
bottles from my friends and neighbors to add it in our garden. My classmates and cousins help
me decorate and paint the bottles that will help beautify the area. Few months later, we harvested
the vegetables that we planted such as mustasa, okra, eggplant, string beans, tomato, squash and
bell peppers. Some of them were given to the kids at the Daycare Center and to the people in our
community. They were so happy that time because they are having a fresh and nutritious food for
their family. Then, we replace the mustasa with lemon grass, pepper, ginger and yellow ginger
because the mustasa’s are sensitive on that season. With the help of my family, working
committee, and my troop leader, we painted the wall beside our garden to make it attractive. We
painted some flowers and beautiful butterflies on the wall to give our garden positive vibes. After
that, I put some labels beside the vegetables to make in more informational for the kids and to
the people who visits our garden. Some of our neighbors gave us flowers so we put in our garden
to add more colors so it be more refreshing. I can say that it is really important to maintain my
workplace neat. Week by week, since the grass in our garden grow so fast, my relatives and some
members of our community help me weed the grass in the garden. Months passed and I can see
the new vegetable garden, it is indeed more attractive, refreshing and abundant. Before the Turn-
Over Ceremony of my project, I assured that the area was neat and clean. As a result, with our
shared efforts and dedication in doing the project, it was indeed a successful one.
With that, I can say that I have accomplish my project “Vegetable Garden of Day Care
Center at Sitio Lower Subaan Socorro, Oriental Mindoro”. It is indeed a great year to celebrate
for the collaborated works of the people in the community. We truly are not just girls in green but
a community in green, a community as one. It was such an amazing experience and journey to
treasure forever. This project helps me build myself and create a stronger connection in our
community. It inspires me and every people that help us make this project successful. I can say
that we can really do things possible as long as we are helping each other.
