under Namami Gange Mission-II Pollution Control Boards (SPCBs)/Pollution Control Committee (PCC).

A total of 4246 GPIs including 38 Common Effluent Treatment Plants
are inventorized i.e. 1399 GPIs operating in river Ganga and its
major tributaries along with 2847 GPIs in river Yamuna and its major
tributaries. 6th round of GPIs inspection has commenced from 28th
March 2024 through 26 technical institutes and as on 30th June,
2024, inspection of 3183 GPIs completed.
[Link] round of annual inspections has been completed through 17

GPIs non-complying. Concerned SPCBs/PCC issued Show Cause
Notices to 37 and closure direction to 66 non-complying GPIs.
[Link] 30.06.2024, 954 GPIs (out of 1229 GPis in river Ganga basin)
and 540 GPIs (out of 1957 GPIs in river Yamuna basin) have
installed Online Continuous Effluent Monitoring Systems (OCEMS)
and connected to CPCB/SPCBs servers.
