Pre-Primary School Infrastructure Development Proposal

Project Background:

Kanaani Integrated Pre-school, a popular choice for parents near and far, faces
significant challenges due to its growing student population. The school's current
infrastructure is severely lacking, hindering its ability to provide a safe and effective
learning environment. The pre-primary section currently enrolls 75-100 learners,
there is need for improved facilities impacts all students.

The school urgently requires two permanent classrooms to replace the existing
makeshift structures. These current classrooms are uncemented, constructed from old
iron sheets, and plagued by leaking roofs, damaged floors riddled with termite holes,
and significant overcrowding. This congestion creates unsanitary conditions,
provides hiding places for rodents and snakes (exacerbated by the surrounding bushy
environment), and poses a direct threat to the children's safety. The lack of proper
storage also contributes to the overcrowding, as learning materials cannot be safely
stored.

In addition to the classrooms, the school desperately needs adequate sanitation

facilities. Currently, there are no suitable washrooms specifically designed for young
learners. The existing toilets are shared by the entire school, from pre-school to junior
secondary, creating an unsanitary and inappropriate situation for the younger children.
The pre-school requires two toilets and one urinal dedicated solely to its young
learners.

Finally, a dedicated play area with appropriate equipment and proper classroom
furnishings are also crucial for a well-rounded early childhood education. The current
inadequate infrastructure likely impacts these areas as well.

area, and equipping classrooms with appropriate furniture will create a safe and
structured environment for the learners.

Project Scope and Deliverables:

100 learners, a toilet block to ensure proper sanitation and hygiene, and the
establishment of a play area equipped with swings, slides, and seesaws. Additionally,
classrooms will be furnished with desks, chairs, shelves, and storage units for learning
materials. Each classroom will be spacious, well-ventilated, and equipped with age-
appropriate learning materials to enhance the learning experience.

Project Strategic Objectives:

 Provide a safe, conducive, and inclusive learning environment for pre-primary

learners.
 Promote early childhood development through well-structured classrooms,
sanitation facilities, play areas, and furnished learning spaces.
