 The survey of the bible is important because we are able


to know the author of every book of the Bible.
 We are able to know the purpose of each book of the
bible.
 We are able to understand the theme and subject of each
book.
 We are able to understand main facts and thoughts of
each book.
 We are able to see Jesus in every book.
 We are able to understand that Christ is the centre and
the heart of the bible.
 We are able to know the relationship between the old and
the New Testament.
 We are able to understand that the Old Testament reflects
Gods dealing with man through the law while the New
Testament reflects Gods dealing with man through Grace.
 We can see clearly that the Old Testament is the
foundation while the New Testament is the super
structure.

Why did God hide the grave of Moses?

Moses was the only person who ever spoke with God face to
face.

He was called Israel’s greatest prophet.


At his time of death God called to climb to mount Nebo.

All this shows us that Moses was a picture of christ

What does the study of the Pentateuch reveal to you about:-

The nature of God.

 God is a promise keeper.


 He is a faithful God.
 He is full of love and grace.
 He is a Holy God.

The people of God:-

 These are people chosen by God.


 They are worshipers of God.
 God will always fight for His people.
 People of God should always walk by faith and not by
sight.

The work of God:-

 He is the creator.
 He calls men unto him {the call of Moses and Abraham}.
 To guide his people.
 He receives sacrifices.
 He blesses and he curses.
 He delivers from bondage.
The plan of God:-

The redemption of man.

From the beginning the plan of God to man is to redeem man


from destination and to have a fellowship with man.

3. What does Moses failure to get to the Promised Land


physically speak to us about the responsibility of
leadership?

 No matter how good we are or how much we have done


for God, we sometimes disobey God. The result of our
disobedience is that we will be disciplined.
 When we are disciplined we should turn to God with love,
and desire to do better.

4. What lessons on discipleship of new converts can be


learnt in the overview of Deuteronomy?

 We should encourage the new converts to read the word


of God.
 We should look up to the law of Christ which is the grace.
 There is blessing in following Christ and there are curses if
we disobey God.
 We have hope of eternal life that is our promised land.

1. Analyse the actions of David and Solomon in their


relationship with God. Answer the following questions:-
a)In which ways are they similar?

 They both loved God.


 They both offered sacrifices.
 They were both chosen by God.
 They were both poet and writers.
 Both are ancestors of Jesus Christ.
 They both committed adultery.

b) In which ways are they different?

 David was a shepherd, from very low background, but


Solomon was from a rolox family.
 David fought many battle but Solomon had rest in his
leadership.
 Solomon built Gods temple but for David God did not allow
him to build the temple.

c)How does their life speak to us today?

 We should learn from our mistakes.


 Admitting our mistakes is the first step in dealing with
them.
 Forgiveness does not remove the consequences of sin.
 God desires our complete trust and worship.
 Knowing what actions are required of us means little
without the will to do those actions.

2. Using the survey of Job as starting point, write two


paragraphs that you can use to answer the question.
Why do the righteous suffer?
 The purpose and why the righteous suffer is not always
evident to the one who is suffering but we always want to
know the cause and the effort but in all this we are
supposed to trust God inspite of unanswered questions.
 Often we suffer consequences for bad decisions and
actions, and in such times we should have the willingness
to repent and confess wrongs, so suffering may benefit
the sufferer.

3) How has the survey of the historical and wisdom


books influenced your view of life, ministry, relationship
and commitment to God?

I have learned that I need to depend on God in this life


and ministry.
I have learned that life is like a race where you run and
handover to the next generation.
We need to be responsible leaders in the ministry.
The the things of the world do not bring true happiness or
satisfaction in the heart of man.
