*Summer Project
"Living Church – Faith in Action"*
Introduction: Understanding that the Church is not just a building, but a community of believers living
out their faith.
The following 6 projects MUST be completed by your child. No exceptions. Anyone who does not
complete these tasks may be moved to the next batch.
Projects:
1. Church Stories Journal
Each student interviews 2–3 members of the congregation (family, elders, youth, etc.) about what
“church” means to them. They write short reflections on each. (Share details on the interviewed
individual such as their name and what do they do etc.)
(Students can explore how Christians live out their faith through various actions, including service,
advocacy, and witnessing.)
2. Community Service Challenge
In small groups or individually, students plan and carry out a small act of service (e.g., cleaning a church,
public space like park or beach, donating food by going out on the road and feeding the hungry, helping
in community service through our church organization). Take photos and write a short report on how
this reflects the mission of the church.
3. Creative Expression Piece
Each student creates something artistic that shows:
What the Church means to Me.
Options include:
A short video
A collage/drawing/painting
A poem (not copied or AI-formed)
4. Interview your parents, sponsors and the parish priest, asking them about
The importance of Confirmation and
"Why is it important for you that I get confirmed?"
" What does my being Catholic mean to you?"
How can you help me become an active member of the church community?
The responses can be recorded in writing or as an audio or video recording.
5. Reflect and write down
On ways you are already living out the gospel message of Jesus.
6. Explore and Join
Make a list of the different church organizations at Our Lady of Fatima Church, ask around from
parishioners and friends. Find out what work they do. Decide which group you would want to be a part
of, and why.
Take the first step to join one group during the holidays.
Note: Completion of the given tasks is mandatory along with revision of all the theory given so far. The
Assignments will be turned in when the Confirmation class resumes in August. Failure to complete the
tasks will result in serious consequences.
The project should be hand written and also presented in a file (be creative with your presentation)
