Chloe: It is currently 7:00 in the morning and we are on our way to the airport to witness the one of a
kind experience in Malaysia!

Carl: Yesss and guess what? We came prepared! (tas ipapakita ang mga bags na dala) Don't worry
guys because you're with us when touring to Malaysia! (Sadly, through screen only)

Chloe: Hep hep! But ofcourse, we won't forget capturing different stories and sceneries just for your
eyes.

Roland: What are you waiting forrr (yung pakanta)

Chloe and Carl: Come and join us as we unfold the pulchritude in the place of British Malaya! (tas

Ella: The Petronas Twin Towers, located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, are iconic skyscrapers that were
once the world's tallest buildings. They were completed in 1998 and designed by architect Cesar Pelli.
The towers feature a sleek, postmodern design with Islamic architectural influences, symbolizing
Malaysia's modernization and its cultural heritage. They remain a symbol of Kuala Lumpur and an
architectural marvel.

Chloe and Carl: Ooohhhhhh!!

Erich : Aside from it, the site planning for PETRONAS Twin Towers began in January 1992, led by
distinguished architect Cesar Pelli along with Deejay Cerico, J.C. Guinto and Dominic Saibo. The
construction of the superstructure commenced in April 1994 after passing multiple rigorous tests and
simulations of wind and structural loads on the design. Finally in June 1996, PETRONAS Twin Towers
was completed with its encasing in steel and glass.

Rhyza: For this moment, we are going to explain the foreign and economic policies utilizing here in
Malaysia. You cannot travel here without knowing these various laws for you to be aware on how
Malaysian live their lives.

Ella: Malaysia is known for its dynamic approach to both foreign and economic affairs. Here are some
key points:

Foreign Policy

1. Non-Alignment - Malaysia follows a policy of non-alignment and neutrality in international conflicts,

2. ASEAN Membership - Malaysia is a member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)
and actively participates in regional diplomacy and economic cooperation within the ASEAN
framework.

Erich: Another one is their Islamic Outreach in which Malaysia promotes itself as a moderate Muslim-
majority nation and often engages in diplomatic and economic initiatives with other Muslim-majority
countries, especially within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Ofcourse, the Bilateral
Relations in which Malaysia has a history of maintaining diplomatic and economic ties with countries
worldwide. It has traditionally maintained strong relations with the United States, China, and
neighboring countries like Indonesia and Singapore.

Ashley: Ofcourse, their Economic Policy includes New Economic Policy (NEP) in which it was initiated
in the 1970s to address economic disparities among the ethnic communities, with a focus on
promoting Bumiputera (Malay and indigenous) economic participation. This policy has evolved over
the years, but the aim of achieving economic equity among ethnic groups continues to be a significant
part of Malaysia's economic policy.

Princess: Trade and Investment? They’ve got you! Malaysia is known for its open and export-oriented
economy. It actively encourages foreign direct investment (FDI) and has free trade agreements with
various countries and regions. It's a member of trade blocs like ASEAN and the Comprehensive and
Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).

Chloe and Carl: Ohhh

Chloe: We should be more careful and responsible while we are here.

Carl: You're right. I somehow felt nervous but yeah, we should also enjoy our stay here. Just be
accountable at every of our actions.

Rhyza: Today, we are going to learn about their cultures. Malaysia is a multi–ethnic, multicultural, and
multilingual society, and the many ethnic groups in Malaysia maintain separate cultural identities. The
society of Malaysia has been described as "Asia in miniature".

Ella: With more than half the country comprising of ethnic Malays who follow the state religion –
Islam – the most important festival in Malaysia is the Islamic New Year celebrations of Eid al-Fitr, or as
it is known in Malay, Hari Raya Aidil Fitri.

Carl: Oh, I heard about it often!

Erich: Hari Raya marks the end of the 9th month of the Islamic calendar, also known as the month
Ramadhan, thus celebrating the end of a month of dawn-to-sunset fasting. Celebrated as a two-day
nationwide holiday in Malaysia, many families would travel back to their hometowns to celebrate
with their extended families.

Ashley: It is customary for some Muslim families to host ‘rumah buka’ or ‘open house’, where they
welcome neighbours and members of the community into their house to join in the celebrations
where one can enjoy festive food such as curry chicken, beef rendang , chicken satay, ketupat,
lemang, rose syrup, cakes, cookies, and tarts.

Princess: During the Eid celebrations, the streets of major cities like Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, and
Jakarta, the streets are often draped in spectacular decorations that are brightly lit at night. 🩷🩵Chloe
and Carl: Ooohhh street lights, I love it!

Rhyza: Guys, additional information! The laws of Malaysia can be divided into two types of laws—
written law and unwritten law. Written laws are laws which have been enacted in the constitution or
in legislation. Unwritten laws are laws which are not contained in any statutes and can be found in
case decisions. This is known as the common law or case law.

Ella: The principle of stare decisis also applies in Malaysian law. This means that any decisions by a
court higher in the hierarchy will be binding upon the lower courts.

Erich: And remember! The Federal Constitution is the supreme law of the land in Malaysia. Any law
passed must be consistent with the Federal Constitution.
