Using AI for Feedback
Step 1: Use either ChatGPT or [Link] to give you feedback on your Writer’s Profile:
I’m creating a Writer’s Profile to introduce myself as a student mentor on a website for college students seeking
mentorship. My goal is to highlight my strengths and skills while also discussing my experiences in ENC 1102 to show
how I can support students in achieving their writing goals. Please provide three or four specific suggestions to make
my profile clearer and more engaging for my specific audience. Additionally, please explain how these suggestions will
enhance my writing and also provide feedback on whether my paragraphs are organized in a logical and impactful
order.
Step 2: Copy and paste your draft and submit it to either ChatGPT or [Link].

One of the key skills I acquired was the ability to conduct Feedback on Paragraph Organization:
Your current paragraphs follow a logical order—starting with your personal
proper research. While I'd always understood that in the age of internet journey, then discussing specific skills, and concluding with your motivation
to mentor. However, to maximize impact:

misinformation.
The second crucial skill is knowing your target audience and
how to influence them. Before taking this writing course, I never
thought about target audiences at all - I just wrote whatever came from
the heart. As I progressed through the course and completed
assignments on identifying target audiences and ways to influence
them, I began to understand how it all worked and started putting it
into practice. However, despite all these exercises, I only truly grasped
the importance of target audiences when doing a peer review of another
student's web article. The assignment was to find as many mistakes as
possible to help improve my classmate's article. I took this to heart and
got to work, but I think I might have overdone it a bit. I came across an
article by a girl who was trying to convince abortion opponents that
abortions are important for women and society as a whole. The
beginning of her article completely missed the mark for both its
purpose and its audience, and I decided to point this out to her. As it
turned out later, I did so too harshly. I failed to consider my own target
audience - namely, a girl raised in American culture who was probably

accustomed to more tactful communication. My response would have
been more appropriate for people from my own culture, who would
have taken my "hyperbole" with humor and understood what I meant.
But the girl who was my target audience in this case wasn't convinced
at all. On the contrary, those few phrases completely destroyed her trust
in me, and she dismissed all the other advice I'd given her, even though
I'd spent a huge amount of time on it and all my corrections were
essentially valid. This made me realize that before you write anything,
you need to VERY carefully study your target audience - otherwise
your writing will never achieve its purpose.
These skills and many others have changed not only my writing
habits but also me as a person for the better. I want to do the same for
other students because I believe everyone should have these skills.
That's exactly why I became an ENC 1102 mentor - this way I can
share my experience with you and help you grow, just like I once grew
myself.

Now summarize—which means write IN YOUR OWN WORDS—the feedback you got from AI and then—again IN YOUR
OWN WORDS—describe any changes you plan to make to your Writer’s Profile based on the AI feedback. Are there
specific recommendations you plan to follow? Why? In what specific ways will these AI recommendations make your
Writer’s Profile stronger and more effective? Are there specific AI recommendations that you plan to ignore? What
are they, and why are you not going to use them?
Artificial intelligence advised me to make the beginning of my text more interesting, the structure simpler, and add
a few more examples that would prove my professionalism. I agree with almost all of these points. I will simplify the
structure of my text, making it easier to read by emphasizing the main points. However, I will not shorten all my
paragraphs, as many of them tell their own story, which would sound less disjointed. Also, on the AI's advice, I could
add a special example for each acquired skill I describe. This would better show exactly how the COURSE has
affected my changes. The AI also suggested that I simplify the speech of my essay. Still, I don't want to do that
because I think it is already appropriate for my audience, since I am engaging students in an English class that
requires a lot of reading and writing, not elementary school students. If it is difficult for them to read my text, then
maybe I don't want to be their mentor, and they are not my target audience.
