The Director,

Skill Development Department UT

J&k Srinagar/ Jammu

Subject: Representation for Enhancement of Salary of Vocational Instructors

Academic Arrangement/ (Guest Faculty) working in the Skill Development
Department.

Respected Sir,

We the undersigned Vocational Instructors working as Academic/Guest

Faculty Arrangement in various Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) under
the Skill Development Department (SDD), wish to bring to your kind
notice the dire situation we are facing due to inadequate remuneration.

Despite carrying out duties equivalent to permanent employees,

including academic instruction, administrative work, and additional
responsibilities beyond our Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs), we are paid
significantly lower wages. This disparity is unjust, especially considering
the increasing cost of living, making it extremely difficult for us to
sustain ourselves and our families.

Moreover, we are frequently assigned extra duties, including exam-

related tasks, admission procedures, and skill development programs,
without any additional compensation. In contrast, permanent
employees receive fair remuneration and benefits for similar work. This
situation has demotivated many skilled instructors, impacting the
quality of vocational education and skill development initiatives in the
UT.

In light of these concerns, we earnestly request your kind intervention

in addressing this issue by advocating for:

1. Enhancement of Salary – A fair and just increase in wages, in

line with the workload and responsibilities we undertake.
2. Equal Pay for Equal Work – Considering parity with permanent
employees, as we perform the same duties.
3. Job Security & Social Benefits – Provision of essential social
security benefits such as medical insurance, EPF, and other
allowances.

We believe that addressing this issue will not only uplift our livelihoods
but also enhance the quality of vocational training, ultimately
benefiting the youth of Jammu & Kashmir.
We kindly urge you to take up this matter with the concerned
authorities and ensure a fair resolution at the earliest.
Looking forward to your support and prompt action.

With sincere regards,

Vocational Instructors

Academic Arrangement/ (Guest Faculty/)
