Colours
A. Primary Colours

Scientists find that by mixing different amounts of red, green and blue lights, we can obtain
many coloured lights. As a result, red, green and blue are called primary colours.

B. Mixing primary coloured lights

a) Experiment
i) Three coloured-lights are used in this experiment.

ii) Place the red colour filter in front of white light. Observe the light produced.

What is the colour of the light? ___________________________________

iii) Produce a beam of blue light by placing a blue colour filter in front of white light.

Direct the blue light and the red light to the same spot on the screen.

What is the colour of the mixed light? ________________________________

iv) Use light rays of other colours and repeat the above steps.
