Summary of Animal Farm Chapter 7

The story goes on with the toiling of the animals in the farm trying to rebuild the windmill which

were
destroyed by the storm hitting and lacking of skills in constructing. Anyway, all the animals in the
farm still see Snowball as a traitor for this and they also decided to rebuild the windmill with thicker
walls.
In January the shortage of food came to the animals. Despite this, Napoleon and the animals work
frantically to conceal the shortage from outside the world. However, the rumors of famines are already
spread to the world, and the confirming of the rumors are likely put the Animal Farm in danger. Still,
Napoleon sells hen`s eggs in order be able to buy grain to make up for the shortfall in their stores even
though nine hens died cause of starvation.
Although Snowball has not been reported directly, the rumors says that he is hiding in either
Pakington’s or Frederick`s farm which Napoleon is learning to do business with. Later on, the pigs
come out and claim Snowball has been returning to the farm at night to ruin the farm again. So, all the
bad things are blamed on Snowball, even if the truth was revealed later. Regularly, Squealer
announces that Snowball has sold himself to Frederick and always in league with the humans, and
Jone`s secret agent either.
Moving on, Napoleon gains the threating of Snowball as a traitor to eliminate his enemies. During a
meeting, he sends his dogs after the four pigs who question his trade plans, the hens that have rebelled
their eggs, and a few other animals who confess to working with Snowball. All of the animals are
executed immediately. This violence stuns the other animals, especially Clover. After that, she and the
other animals gather on the knoll where the windmill stood and try comfort themselves by sing “Beast
of England’ but Squealer tells them this song is now banned, and replaced by Animal Farm.
