Understanding the Arab Spring Uprisings

The Arab Spring was a series of pro-democracy protests and uprisings that began in West Asia and North Africa in 2010, sparked by the self-immolation of Mohammad Bouazizi in Tunisia. The movement aimed for democracy, free elections, economic freedom, and human rights, leading to the ousting of several autocratic leaders across the region. While some countries experienced regime change, others faced civil unrest or implemented reforms in response to the protests.
