What are symptom and sign?
SYMPTOMS

• Symptoms are what a patient


experiences.
• Get the symptoms by doing anamnese
(asking what the patient feels).
• Example:
- Stomachache,
- Lower-back pain
- Heart-burn
SIGNS

• Signs are what you see, feel or


measure.
• So, you get the signs by doing physical
examination.
• Example:
- Bruising
- Rash
- Swelling
