To help you freshen up and recall your past lesson let
us answer the following questions. Are you ready? We are ready!

Weather affects our daily lives.
The weather today may be different from the weather
tomorrow and in other places.
Weather data includes facts or numbers about the
state of the atmosphere, including temperature, wind
speed, rain or snow, humidity, and air pressure.
Here is an example of weather data for the month of
November 2020.
There are several factors of weather that can be
considered. They are the following:
1. Temperature – Earth’s surface is not heated
equally by the sun this results in unstable conditions.
The warmer air from areas that are heated from the
ground is lighter, whereas the cooler air coming from
less-heated areas is heavier. In the Philippines, cooler
days are usually felt in January with temperatures
averaging at 25.5° C (77.9° F), and the warmest days
are in May, with an average of 28.3° C (82.9° F)
2. Relative Humidity – this refers to the amount of
moisture (water vapor) that the atmosphere can hold.
3. Wind – air always moves as a result of
temperature differences. It moves from a high-
pressure area to a low-pressure area in an attempt to
balance out the differences in temperature.
4. Precipitation – is often a result of relative
humidity. It occurs when the atmosphere can no
longer hold moisture. In the Philippines, the most
common form of precipitation is rain.
5. Clouds – is a large collection of very tiny droplets
of water or ice crystals up in the atmosphere.
Farmers consider the seasons of the Philippines in
planting and in drying their crops, or even in doing
some activities. The Philippines has two kinds of
seasons: the wet season (June to November) and
dry season (December to May). Each season has a
particular characteristic.
A person can infer the season through weather
patterns using weather data.
The Philippines weather patterns are created by the
prevailing winds. A prevailing wind blows mostly
from a single direction. The prevailing winds in the
Philippines are the southwest monsoon known as the
habagat, and the northeast monsoon known as the
amihan.
What is the importance of knowing the
weather in planning one’s activity?
Incorporating weather forecasts into your
outdoor activity planning can
significantly enhance your experience. By
considering temperature, precipitation, wind
conditions, air quality index, humidity, and other
factors you can make decisions that lead to safer
and more enjoyable outings

have for the day is important for us because it
affects our daily activities and plans. For
example, if it's going to rain heavily, we might
need to bring an umbrella or cancel outdoor
activities. If it's going to be hot and sunny, we
might need to wear sunscreen and drink plenty
of water.
