HELP NIEM KOLKATA DELIVER THE BEST TO EACH STUDENT

I. All Students must follow the Rules & Regulations governing Institute.
II. All Registration requirements must be duly complete and correct. Should any
changes come must inform the Admin through mail & proper documents self
attested copy.
III. Attendance of 60 % is must in order to qualify for Sitting in Exams ,Clearance
of Exams thereafter will enable Students qualify for their Certificates of
Respective Course .
IV. Students is Required to Maintain a Pendrive with Appropriate Folders Keeping
A Record of All Things To Do in That Device, No Other Matter Should Be There,
it has to be brought Everyday & Updated in Institute’s Folders System
periodically & when asked for.
V. In Addition Students Will Prepare , Maintain & Upgrade Project File to be kept
with the Institute providing hardcopy of CV , Resume , All Monthly Appraisals ,
Self Attendance with Classes Details Sheet , All Assignments & Prototypes . All
Certificates, Letter of Appreciations, Acknowledgements of Stipends Received
by Students as & when it comes will be filled by Institute.
VI. Pendrive & Project File is Confidential, Pendrive Folders & Project File will be
kept with Institute, utilised during Internship Interviews, subsequent
Placements Assistance.
VII. Every Student is expected to grab all the events given to them, qualifying to
get as many certificates possible, however there is limitation for Institute to
give infinite events, but appropriate no of events will be given, where decision
of Admin is final.
VIII. Fees Schedule with due dates is to be maintained by Students & their
Guardians/Parents, without follow up by Admin.
IX. However due to genuine financial reason , we may give grace of Seven Days ,
crossing which it will attract penalty Rs 500 per Instalment till approved period.
Any grace requested must be availed with request mail with specific date.
X. No Students will put pressure on admin for Stipends, it will be given after
receiving from respective companies and after due course of processing.
Acknowledgements of Receipt should be signed & returned to Admin whether
payment received online or by Associated Event Company directly.
XI. All Photos, Videos, Certificates, Letter of Appreciation, Personal Views related
to events practical during course is propriety of Institute. However students
can utilise them to share until it is not restricted.
XII. All mobiles, electronic gadgets must be in silence mode preferably switched
off during classes, events & exams. During classes must be kept in either
bags or place provided for it.
XIII. No student should put request to leave class before it is finished, or enter
classes 15 mins after it started without prior permission.
XIV. Wearing ID card is mandatory when entering the Building, not only classes.
XV. NIEM Kolkata is a Team, respect, reverence is important, should be seen in
conduct, words, and gestures.
XVI. Not spreading any fake news, misconception is taking care of each past,
present & future team members. Anyone NOT following or taking part in any
group activities leading to above will lead to his /her name can be struck.
Guidelines
XVII. Leave:
a. Any leave which you take, must be approved by admin,
therefore you must send mail to us, with documents
substantiating your reason if leave is more than 2 days
(Plain mail is sufficient if leave is equal to or less than 2
days)
Documents for substantiating are
i. Doctors’ certificate if leave is for more than 2 days for
sick leave.
ii. Hand written note (scan) by your parents, if leave is
more than 2 days for any other reason including going
to home town.
b. Except sick leave of more than 2 days, no other leave type
will be considered if your total leave result in requisite
attendance shortage.
c. In upto 40 % of your leave, though you may take, you must
ensure all notes related to missed class is taken by you,
from your fellow colleague students.

XVIII. Events Practicals:


a. From time to time , we announce Events Practical’s , which
we reconsider all will be available ,if any case you are not
available or not selected for the event , you may be called to
Institute to continue the process of course ,in scheduled
class’ day & time .
b. All students who go to events & those who don’t go but
come to Institute their Attendance will be considered, not
coming or not doing event will be marked absent.
c. For absent marking availing leave mail will be mandatory
following above leave guidelines.
d. Reaching & Assembling half an hour before Actual Time of
Events Given by External Event Company, Clicking a Group
Photo with Back Drop is mandatory So Must Cooperate with
Coordinator. Coordinator should not be influenced by any
member still not reached, must ensure photo taken.

XIX. Assignments (Including Group Assignments):


a. All assignments whether individual or group, each have to
prepare total , then share with the coordinator , in case not
coming ,his /her contribution must be captured , and will
subsequently be prepared to present .
b. All assignments got, prepared & presented must be
captured in Students Attendance Sheet as well as
Appraisals.

DO ‘S

1. Discipline and Punctuality are Integral to Success. Attend your classes on


time.
(Action will be taken against habitual late-comers.)
2. Be a Proud NIEMian. Come to the Institute in proper dress and shoes. (You
may come in smart casuals until particular dress code is made mandatory
related to events, occasions).
3. Respect your fellow classmates, the senior students as well as your teachers.
Use only courteous and polite language and behave with decorum with the
faculty, staff, students and guests of the Institute.
4. NIEM Kolkata is your very own institution. Take care of the Institute property.
Maintain Hygiene.
(Any damage to or mishandling of equipment and/or other property of the
Institute will lead to strict disciplinary action against the miscreant.)
5. Take up all assignments, tests and examinations of the Institute seriously and
try to perform the best. Any information and/or other task assigned to you
should be submitted within the given deadline.
6. Read notices/circulars displayed/posted on the Institute Notice Board or Whats
App Groups Ignorance of not reading any notice/circular thus displayed/posted
shall not be accepted as an excuse for failing to comply with the directions
contained in it.
7. Be respectful and well-mannered towards all the staff in your Institute. It is
important that you learn to respect the work of others. You are enjoying a safe
and healthy environment at NIEM Kolkata because the Security and the
Facilitators are doing their job well.
8. Be responsible for your actions and learn to share and shoulder the collective
responsibility of your Institute.
9. Take care of your own belongings.
10. In case of any problem or confusion, bring the matter immediately to the notice
of NIEM Administration. He/she is there to help you in all matters related to
your academic and personal development.
11. While attending any Event or Internship, conduct yourself in such a manner as
to bring credit to yourself and to the Institution.
12. For any outstation Events, students are expected to take necessary permission
from their parents before committing availability. Any last minute dropout will
result in penalty to the extent of train ticket fare to & fro.
13. File any genuine complaint to the concerned authority without fear.
14. Should you want to meet in person and talk about matter related your
association with course, events, internships, fees, appraisals etc, inform the
appropriate person ,seek appointment, you will be heard adequately
addressing your concern.
You should also have followed reasonable process as mentioned above.
Sometimes your discussions will directly relate to your progress of learning,
hence your Project file & Pendrive folders must be updated.

Don’ts:
15. Don’t rag and don’t be a mute witness to ragging. It is a criminal offence
punishable under the Indian Penal Code. Strict disciplinary action will be taken
against any student indulging in any form of ragging or Eve-Teasing inside the
Institute premises or outside.
16. NIEM Kolkata is your very own institution. Don’t litter the Campus. A clean and
healthy environment will lead to a better tomorrow.
17. Don’t loiter in the corridor or in the other areas in and around the Institute
during your scheduled class hours.
18. Don’t use unfair means during examination. Misconduct during examination,
production of false information or documents for admission purpose and the
failure to return materials taken on loan from the College would be seriously
dealt with.
19. Do not leave the class or attend it late under the pretext of attending mobile
call.
20. Don’t use foul language within the Institute.
21. Don’t indulge in any activity that may cause harm to the others or to yourself.
22. Desist from violence of any kind inside the Institute or outside it.
23. Unruly gathering in groups at roads, entrance, exit and pathways is strictly
prohibited.
24. Smoking and/or consumption of any kind of alcoholic drinks/drugs inside the
Institute is strictly prohibited.
25. Students should not involve themselves either directly or indirectly in any form
of canvassing either inside or outside the Institute during their period of study.
