CATHOLIC MEN ASSOCIATION

ARTICLE 3: OBJECTIVES
1. To bring together and unite catholic men in Kenya.
2. To evangelize the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
3. To promote the Catholic faith and religious life amongst its members.
4. To provide means of co-operation among the Catholic men and the
expression of their collective opinions, views and decision upon matters
affecting Christian morality, family and civic life.
5. To participate in matters calculated to lead to the strengthening of the
Catholic Church including small Christian communities.
6. To promote effective representation of the association in church, the
public and social welfare organizations where such representation will
serve the objective of the association.
7. To promote health social behavior of the members and care for
environment.
8. To promote education and Christian spiritually of Catholic men and their
families.
9. To identify and assist members of the society who are in difficulty
circumstances, example the sick and the aged, poor destitute, orphans,
HIV affected families, widows, widowers etc.
[Link] co-operate and work with the church, other church associations, the
government and the organization with similar aspirations.
[Link] enhance solidarity and participation of catholic men in the republic of
Kenya in the fulfillment of the objectives of the associations.
[Link] co-operate with other associations or organizations within or outside
Kenya having objectives similar to the association.
[Link] encourage and assist members in forming social/economic activities.
[Link] acquire either by purchase or lease any movable or immovable
property. This will strengthen the association’s self-reliance on finance.
[Link] seek and obtain legal advice on any matter affecting the association
for protecting the rights of a member on matters arising ,out relations and
with the church or state .The national executive council have the sole
right to decide whether or not such legal advice or assistance is in the
interest of the association.
ARTICLE 4: MEMBERSHIP
1. ORDINARY MEMBESHIP
(a) Any male person over the age of 18 years practicing the Catholic faith is
baptized in the Catholic Church and is resident of Kenya shall be eligible
for membership of the Association subject to the approval of the National
Executive Council. A member is to pay annual membership fee as
decided by the council.
(b) Registration shall be done through the various Catholic Parishes where
registers of registered members is maintained.
(c) Registered members shall renew their membership by paying registration
fee. Any member who fails to renew his membership shall be deemed to
have left the association.
(d) The council shall have power to suspend a member from the association
until the next general meeting. A member has the right to appeal against
the expulsion during the annual general meeting where his expulsion can
be considered.
2. ASSOCAITE MEMBERSHIP.
This is open to Catholic practicing clergy, brothers, youths and
seminarians. They are Ex – officials appointed by the National Executive
Council.
3. HONORARY MEMBERSHIP
Honorary membership is granted to a person who in the opinion of ex – council
has performed distinguished services to the cause of the association. Such
members shall neither carry the right to voter hold an office in the association.
4. CESSATION OF EMENBERSHIP.
a) Member may be expelled from the association if proved beyond doubt
that his conduct has adversely affected the reputation of dignity of the
association or has contravened any of the provisions of the association,
constitution of the association.
b) Any member who resigns or is removed from membership shall not be
entitled to refund membership fee or any thereof.
