World History 1 Final Project
Historical Yearbook
Directions: For this final project you will get to be the editor of your very own yearbook! You are responsible
for creating a history yearbook that demonstrates some of your learning from throughout the year. In the
following pages you may use any person, god, invention or civilization that we have covered throughout the
year but only once. Your information must be evenly spread throughout the 4 quarters.
Required for all: must complete page 1 & 2
PAGE 1: Front Cover (REQUIRED)
● Name of your fictional school (make it creative!)
● Title for yearbook
● Picture or drawing of school mascot (symbol or image that represents your fictional school)
● Your name and period
PAGE 2: The Year In Review page (REQUIRED)
● Choose THREE events that you thought were the most interesting, exciting, inspiring, amazing,
surprising or just plain crazy!
● Write a detailed description highlighting each event. In each description you must provide an
explanation that includes relevant facts, important people and the significance of the event.
● Provide a drawing or picture of each.
Choice Pages: must choose 3 out of 5 pages to put in your yearbook
OPTION 1: Superlatives
● 5 superlatives minimum. Be as creative and humorous as possible!
● Choose which people, civilizations, places or events best fit into each chosen superlative category.
● Superlatives should relate to a variety of civilizations and the winners should be from different cultures
and time periods. Include a picture and a 3-5 sentence explanation for why they won that superlative.
OPTION 2: Club
● The chosen club must contain at least FOUR people or civilizations we’ve studied.
● Include an image and short description of why you selected that person or civilization to be a member
OPTION 3: Advertisements
● Choose TWO historical inventions or innovations from the time period covered in this class (Prehistory
to around 1500 CE) that you believe had a significant impact on world history.
● Include a drawing or picture of it and write a paragraph or create a compelling advertisement that
encourages the reader to buy it based on why the invention is important, how it will make someone’s
life better or change the world and if it is still relevant today.
OPTION 4: Study Abroad
● Choose 4 locations to study abroad that you would most like to visit that were created before 1500 CE
● For each location selected, explain the following:
○ Why that location was selected/important
○ What famous people or event might you see there?
○ Where in the world is it located?
OPTION 5: Staff
● Choose 4 people/civilizations that would potentially be hired to teach a course in your school. For each
teacher/professor identify the following:
○ What is the name of the course?
○ What is the course content being taught?
○ Explain IN DETAIL why the person you selected is qualified to teach that course
