Let us learn about some features/tools present under the various tabs.
HOME TAB
The home tab has the following groups: Clipboard, Font, Paragraph, Styles and Editing group.
Various groups under home tab are-
CLIPBOARD group
This group has the following options: Cut, Copy, Paste, Format Painter.
FONT group
The font group has options that let you format the document.
Grow Font
Font Style
Shrink Font
Font Size
Dialog box launcher
Change Case
Subscript SuperScript
Some shortcut key combinations that let you perform formatting quickly are:
Formatting Tasks Shortcut keys
Make letters bold CTRL+B
Make letters italic CTRL+I
Make letters underline CTRL+U
Increasing font size Ctrl+shift+>
Decreasing font size Ctrl+shift+<
Change case Shift+F3
B – Bold I – italics U – Underline

PARAGRAPH group
This group has options to change alignment, indentation, line spacing and adding
bullets/numbering.
o BULLETS AND NUMBERING
o ALIGNMENT
Align Text Left places the text towards the left margin. (Ctrl +
L) Align Text Right places the text towards the right margin. (Ctrl
+R)
Center-alignment places the text in the center of the left and right
margins .(Ctrl+E)
Justify-alignment places the text in such a way that text is
equally distributed across both the margins. (Ctrl+J)

.Header & Footer group
A header or footer is text or other information such as graphics that is stored at the
top or bottom of the page throughout your document
.
To insert header or footer, click on the Header or Footer option in the Header& Footer group in Insert
tab.
Header (Insert ->Header->Chose Option Available)
Footer (Insert->Footer->Chose Option Available)
Headers and footers are useful for including material that you want to appear on every page of a
document such as your name, the title of the document, or page numbers.
o INDENTATION
Left and Right Indentation can also be set using Paragraph group in the Page
Layout tab.

Layout:
Orientation refers to the layout of paper in which the document gets printed. Landscape and portrait. In
portrait the page is printed lengthwise whereas in landscape the page is printed widthwise.
Select layout – Orientation – select portrait or landscape from the options.
