What is meant by direction?

Direction :In a simple word, direction is to direct the subordinates to achieve definite
aim of an organization. In a comprehensive word, direction is not only bounded in
directing the worker but in order to use all afforts of the workers to order, advise, request,
Consulting all are included in Direction.

Prof. Newman said thus, “In which way an exclusive advice or shows them working policy
to his subordinates is called direction.”

In short, Direction is a continuous process to order the worker & also of necessary
management & leadership.
Describe the qualities of goods direction.
Qualities of a good direction:
Importance of direction is unlimited in case of management. Direction acts as a bridge
between planning and working done. Here are the qualities of a good Direction :
1. Rationality: Good direction must be rational or logical . If the workers do not consider as
illogically, then the direction can never be good.
2. Fully perfection: All topics about direction should properly be presented. Otherwise
cannot understand properly and will not be able to complete the work.
3. Direction will be in brief: Direction must be condensed. Too many talks bring hazard in
doing work.
4. Vividness: A good direction is to be vivid and easy. Otherwise, subordinates are not able
to understand that.
5. Relevancy : One of the important features of a good direction is relevancy. Irrelevant any
subject should not be included in direction.
6. Discipline / regularity : A good direction should be regular and disciplined. Direction
should be directed regularly from higher level officer.

7. Punctuality: Punctuality is an important feature of a good direction. Necessary


directory should be ready in a definite time.
8. Serially presentation: New directory should be applicable with the previous one.
9. Continuity : Direction should be given in such a way so that the workers cannot trick
any way.
10. Considering the result : In giving instruction, it should consider the result of previous
directory. If the result is not satisfactory, then an accurate change should be taken place in
case of new one
11. Direction should be written : Good direction should be as long as written. Oral
direction may cause many problems. So a good direction should have some features which
inspire and motivate the workers to lead them.
What are the principle of direction?

Principle of direction: Direction is very important for management. The success of the
organization depends on the success of direction. So, to make direction successful it should
follow some principles. They are following :

subordinates with those of the subordinates:

5. Effective Leadership: The boss must have the qualities of a good leader, if he is to get the
work done by the workers.
6. Effective Motivation: Direction must be such, which inspires the people to contribute
fully for the well being of the organization.

8. Appropriate Techniques: Managers should use correct direction techniques to ensure
efficiency of direction. The techniques used should be suitable to the superior, the

relationship.
