MIRROR & LABELLING
OPENING PITCH STRATEGY
By

W3bHub
Now...
These 2 STRATEGIES is what I called MIRROR & LABELLING...
... because without trying to sound like you're in the server to get
hired...
This strategy automatically gives you the LEVERAGE to pitch
yourself indirectly...
Here's an example below ⤵⤵
W3bHub
If you look at the message above...
That was the first message I dropped upon opening the ticket
channel...
W3bHub
And I just did 2 things there...
Can you guess??
Exactly 💯...
I MIRRORED & LABELLED them...
... and the result??
The project manager & project founder came answering!
Now...
It's important for you to know that this technique I'd be teaching you
here is one of the Strategies used by FBI agents when negotiating
hostage release...
Now...
W3bHub
What makes this work is because it helps you identify what the
project founder actually needs...
... and helps you get them feeling safe enough to talk and talk and talk
some more about what they want.
For a brief dive into what MIRRORING entails...
It's essentially IMITATION...
It's a neurobehavior humans display in which we copy each other to
comfort each other...
We're rarely aware of what's happening...
But it's a sign that people are bonding, in sync, and establishing the
kind of rapport that leads to trust...
The reason why I've showed you this is to let you know that this is
not just trial & error...
W3bHub
It's backed up in the understanding of the human psychology...
It makes the process interesting to you because you now begin to
see how people react and behave...
And trust me when I say this:
That anytime I go Pitching for a role...
More than just getting hired, I enjoy the process if getting project
founders excited about what I have to offer.
And I've practically tested it over and over again...
And in the Pitch Right book that I'm writing...
I showed the different conversations I've had..
Where I went wrong & what the right thing should have been..
W3bHub
Now, all these is by way of preparing your mind of what you get to
learn in this book...
& Like I said earlier...
We'd use this strategy, pitching 100 servers each.
This is not the same class you've attended before...
This is More... This is intentional...
This is PURE value.
So...
Today, I'd be talking about MIRRORING...
...and how to use it when pitching a project founder
W3bHub
And like I said...
Mirroring is essentially IMITATION...
It's another neurobehavior humans (and other animals) display in
which we copy each other to comfort each other.
It's a sign that people are bonding, in sync, and establishing the kind of
rapport that leads to trust
Now...
When you're mirroring, what you do is repeat back what people say...
By repeating back what people say, you trigger this mirroring instinct
and your counterpart will inevitably elaborate on what was just said
and sustain the process of connecting...
Got it right?
I'm going to elaborate more with an example ⤵⤵
W3bHub
Now... Someone tried using the template I used before...
I'd tell you what's wrong about this...
But look at the words in red...
W3bHub
That first statement there is what I call MIRRORING...
It's obvious from the ticket channel that they already stated that
they're not hiring...
So...
What you do in MIRRORING is repeating what they said...
Just as simple as that...
No complications...
Just simple
Now...
You might get to a community where that information is not written...
W3bHub
What you do in this case is to find something that has been said that
you can repeat...
MIRROR helps to encourage the project manager to empathize and
bond with you...
To keep them talking...
It invites them to reveal their strategy...
...and that's just what you want.
That's what will get you trusted.
That's what will get you hired.
It's as simple as that...
No ambiguity...
W3bHub
Find something that has been said before...
Repeat the statement back to them...
But there's something you should look out for when finding something
to MIRROR...
...and that's your LABEL...
You have to find your LABEL...
After finding your LABEL...
You'd then find something that has been said about it or that relates
to it...
This is what you MIRROR...
I know the last statement might look difficult to understand...
W3bHub
But I'm going to break it down with an example...
But first...
Let's talk about LABELLING.
Labelling is a way of validating someone's emotion by acknowledging
it.
I'm not going to bore you with too much talks...
So, I'm going to use an example to explain it
W3bHub
The second part of the pitch is what LABELING is...
What I did there was to put a name on what they're feeling at that
moment that made them put out information that they're not hiring...
You have to think through...
...to know why they could possibly have put up a disclaimer that
they're not hiring...
And note that it doesn't have to be that they're attracting Job hunters
alone
They could have the right kind of audience...
But still put out that instruction...
What you should do is find other reasons why they put out that
instruction.
You could come up with a reason like...
W3bHub
"It seems you're having a number of open tickets trying to get a job
instead of having VCs & investors coming in to know what the
project is about "...
Now this would work for a community that have a good number of
members...
And are building...
But need influencers and whales validation and leverage...
It all boils down to understanding what they need...
And putting out these words can help you uncover alot of
information...
You get the project Founders talking & talking
Now...
W3bHub
I said that you need your LABEL to be able to construct your
MIRROR...
This is how you go about it...
⤵⤵⤵
Assuming you get to a community & you found out that they're asking
the members how they were able to get into the community...
Like where they saw the community...
You can leverage that to form your LABEL...
Now, in forming your LABEL..
It'd look like this...
"Looks like you can't keep tabs on which marketing funnel is bringing
in members to your community..."
W3bHub
Now...
From this LABEL, you can form your MIRROR...
...by repeating the question they ask...
And it'd be like...
I noticed you ask new members about how they were able to find
the project...
Now...
Combining both...
Your starting pitch would be like this...
"I noticed you ask new members about how they were able to find
your project...
W3bHub
Looks like you can't keep tabs on which Marketing funnel is bringing
in members to your community..."
This would get the project founder running to respond to you...
Because what you just did is hit on an important desire...
You're not just sending pitches...
But you're connecting with them
You have to draw them to respond to you and get them to talk and
talk about their project..
Because trust me...
You'd have more leverage to know some background information of
what is lacking in the project...
...and this can give you a good point to pitch.
W3bHub
If you don't understand the project first...
You'd just pitch without getting any results...
This is where we end...
PRACTICE
Now...
I'd want you to go through everything and try to come up with
samples of opening pitch like this...
Create as much as possible & drop in my DM...
Ask questions in my DM if you need more clarification.
W3bHub
And then...
After this...
...there's something we'd be doing...
Which is; we're going to use those pitch in 100 servers...
I'd be adding you to a group with other persons...
And that's after I get those pitches from you...
Cos if you don't practice it... You don't have anything to send...
So, if I don't see your input in my DM... You wouldn't ride with us in
landing those jobs easily.
I'd be waiting ☑☑☑
