hometown. noun. the town or city that a person is from, especially the one in which they were born and
lived while they were young.
country. noun. an area of land that has its own government, army, etc..
email address. noun. a series of letters, numbers, and symbols used to send and receive email.
cell phone. noun. a phone that is connected to the phone system by radio instead of by a wire, and can
be used anywhere where its signals can be received.
college. noun. a university where you can study for an undergraduate (= first) degree.
company. noun. an organization that sells goods or services in order to make money.
chef. noun. a skilled and trained cook who works in a hotel or restaurant, especially the most important
cook.
doctor. noun. a person with a medical degree whose job is to treat people who are ill or hurt.
salesperson. noun. a person whose job is selling things in a shop or directly to customers.

lake. noun. a large area of water surrounded by land and not connected to the sea except by rivers or

forest. noun. a large area of land covered with trees and plants, usually larger than a wood, or the trees

beach. noun. an area of sand or small stones near the sea or another area of water such as a lake.
river. noun. a natural wide flow of fresh water across the land into the sea, a lake, or another river.
mountain. noun. a raised part of the earth's surface, much larger than a hill, the top of which might be

vehicle's movement.
subway. noun. a railway system in which electric trains travel through tunnels below ground.
train. noun. a railway engine connected to carriages for carrying people or to wheeled containers for
carrying goods.
bus stop. noun. a place, usually with a pole with a sign, where a bus stops to allow passengers to get on
and off.
walk. verb. to move along by putting one foot in front of the other, allowing each foot to touch the
ground before lifting the next.
bus. noun. a large vehicle in which people are driven from one place to another.
bath. noun. a long plastic, metal, or ceramic container that is filled with water so that you can sit or lie in
it to wash your whole body.

race. noun. a competition in which all the competitors try to be the fastest and to finish first.
gym. noun. a place or club where you can go to exercise using machines, weights, and other equipment.
goal. noun. an area on a playing field, that usually has two posts with a net fixed behind them, where
players try to send the ball in order to score in sports such as football and hockey.
field. noun. an area, usually covered with grass, used for playing sports.
fan. noun. someone who admires and supports a person, sport, sports team, etc..
court. noun. an area drawn out on the ground that is used for playing sports such as tennis and
basketball.
athlete. noun. a person who is very good at sports or physical exercise, especially one who competes in
organized events.

speaker. noun. the part of a radio, television, or computer, or of a piece of electrical equipment for
playing recorded sound, through which the sound is played. A speaker can be part of the radio, etc. or
