1. What are Complementisers?

that he is coming," "that" is the complementiser.

2. What are Complex Sentences?


Complex sentences are sentences that contain one independent clause and at least one
dependent clause. They are used to express relationships between ideas, such as cause
and effect or contrast.

Distinction from Simple Sentences:

● Simple Sentences: Contain only one independent clause with no dependent clauses
(e.g., "She reads books.").
● Complex Sentences: Include one independent clause and one or more dependent
clauses (e.g., "Although she was tired, she finished her book.").
