A budget is a financial work plan in a calendar year.
5. What steps/procedures are followed in the school budget making?
Heads of Department/stakeholders sit discuss what is required in their department and present to the head
teacher.
The head teacher as an accounting officer consults the Bursar for financial technical advice in relation to the
previous year’s budget.
The head teacher gives the estimated budget to finance committee Board of Governor for more discussions.
The School Board of Governor approves the budget.
The head teacher writes to the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education through the District Administrative
Officer (C.A.O.) for approval.
The C.A.O. approves the budget and it is taken for approval to Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education and
Sports for approval.
The budget comes back to the school for each stake holder/H.O.D to get their share.
6. What books of account do you know in the school?
