formulating hypothesis or suggested solution; collecting organizing and evaluating data; making deduction and research conclusions; and at last carefully testing the conclusion to determine whether they fit the formulating hypothesis. - Clifford woody Title of the study Title of the study is A Study on Customer Expectation about Reliance Fresh in Salem City Reliance retail Limited. Area of the study Area of the study is confined to salem city. Research Design
A research design is purely and simply the framework or plan of a study that guides the collection and analysis of data. A research design is the arrangement of condition and analysis of data in a manner that aims to combine relevance to the research purpose with economy in procedure. Sample Design The Questionnaires is well structured, simple and understandable so as to cover the objectives of study. The method of sampling adopted for the study is a Convenience Sampling method. Sample Size For the purpose of the study, 150 questionnaires were collected in Salem District. Sampling procedure Samples are selected as non-probability samples based on convenience sampling. When the population elements are selected for inclusion in the sample based on the case of access, it can be called Connivance Sampling.
Research data collection method Both primary and secondary data are collected so as to fulfill the various objectives of the present study. This study is of descriptive in
nature. For the purpose of collection of data, a detailed questionnaire has been prepared and collected from the consumers. Adequate care has been exercis ed to collect unbiased data from the respondents. The total number of the consumers covered in the study is 150. Tools used for analysis For the purpose of the study the following tools have been considered. Percentage analysis or descriptive analysis for exhibiting ordinary tables and chi-square analysis used to test the significant association between two attributes used for the study.
1. Simple percentage analysis Percentage analysis is carried out for the answer given by the respondents towards the questions given in the questionnaire.
No. of respondents Percentage analysis = Total No. of respondents 2. Chi-square Analysis In this section the researcher was interested to test whether the Variable considered has any significant relationship or not. To prove statistically the research has selected CHI-SQUARE ANALYSIS. * 100
The formula for calculating chi-square analysis is following:
(Oi-Ei)2 Chi- square test (x2) = Ei Degree of freedom =(R-1) (C-1)
Whereas,
Oi Ei R C

3. Ranking method This technique was used to rank out the opinion about the best of reliance fresh. The order of merit given by the respondents was converted into ranks.
4. Anova One-way ANOVA TABLE has been applied to find out equality of Variances between factors. 1.8 REVIEW OF LITERATURE PHILIP KOTLER
