Conjunctions are of four types:
1. coordinating conjunction
2. correlative conjunction
3. subordinating conjunction
4. conjunctive adverb
1. Coordinating conjunction
There are only 7 coordinating conjunctions in English:
and, but, or, so, nor, for, yet
‘And, but, or’ can be used to connect ‘words, phrases, or sentences.’
And Expresses ‘addition’
េហយនិង Jon and Mary are husband and wife.
Pisey, Theara, and Dany are friends.
Dara is singing and dancing at the club.
Sothea speaks slowly and carefully.
He can write English, and he can speak a little French.
But Expresses ‘contrast’ (two words with opposite meanings).
ប៉ុ ែ ន Ǝ Thom is poor but handsome.
She speaks quickly but carefully.
They like football but dislike swimming.
Everybody but Sopheak was arrested in the riot.
She looks lovely, but she never talk to any boy.
Or Expresses ‘choices/ alternatives’.

‘So, nor, for, yet’ can be used to connect only ‘sentences.’
So Expresses ‘result/consequent/effect’.
