* Measure of the head circumference
- We will measure at the heads widest diameter which is on the occipital frontal
- Above the eyebrows
- Approximately 1/4 of the newborns head
- Average: 32-38 cm (13-14 inch)

- Average 30-36 cm (12-14 inch)
* Measurement of the abdominal
- We will measure it above the umbilicus because if below po baka po full bladder
- Not routinely measure if if their is suspicious of abdominal distention due to obstruction in GI
* Measure of the Body length
- Unclothed
- Flat surface with the knees held in extended position b
- Head to soles of feet
- Average 50 cm (20 inches)
- Ranges 45-55 cm (18-22 inch)
* Weight the newborn
- Lose of 10% of their birth weight within the 1st few days of life
- Balance 1st the weighing scale
- Place a warmed protective cloth or paper as a barrier on the scale
- Adjust the scale after applying barrier
- Female - 7lbs
- Male- 7.5 lbs
- 5 to 8 lbs or 2700 to 4k (Average 3500)
- Filipino- 3000 grams
- 2.5 to 4 kg
3. Check the patency of anus
- Magpapasok tayo ng temperature sa anus
- Stenosis (if blocked or missing anus)
4. Administer ophthalmic ointment
- Ophthalmic drops (1-2 drops) lower conjunctival sac
- Ophthalmic ointment (0.5 -1 cm) inner outer Canthus
- Erythromycin
5. Administer Vitamin K at birth
- Helps blood clot or serious bleeding
- IM injection vastus lateralis
- 0.5 mg - preterm
- 1 mg - term
- Baby 0.1
6. Administer Hepa B
- After birth
- 0.5 ml
- Intramuscularly in anterolateral thigh muscle
8. BCG
- Tuberculosis
- 0.05
- Left upper arm and intradermal
7. Keep the baby warm
- Warm blankets
- Skin to skin contact
- Heat lamp
8. Take of the gloves and wash hands
