1. This Question Paper has 5 Sections A-E.


2. Section A has 20 MCQs carrying 1 mark each.
3. Section B has 5 questions carrying 02 marks each.
4. Section C has 6 questions carrying 03 marks each.
5. Section D has 4 questions carrying 05 marks each.
6. Section E has 3 case based integrated units of assessment (04 marks each) with subparts of the values
of 1, 1 and 2 marks each respectively.
7. All Questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 2 Qs of 5 marks, 2 Qs of 3 marks and 2
Questions of 2 marks has been provided. An internal choice has been provided in the 2marks
questions of Section E

Section D consists of 4 questions of 5 marks each.
32. In Fig., POQ is a line. Ray OR is perpendicular to line PQ.
OS is another ray lying between rays OP and OR.

Prove that ∠ ROS = 2 (∠ QOS - ∠ POS) .
OR
In Fig., PQ and RS are two mirrors placed parallel to each other. An incident ray AB strikes
the mirror PQ at B, the reflected ray moves along the path BC
and strikes the mirror RS at C and again reflects back along CD.
Prove that AB || CD.
33. In right triangle ABC, right angled at C, M is the mid-point
of hypotenuse AB. C is joined to M and produced to a point D
such that DM = CM. Point D is joined to point B (see Fig.).
Show that:
(i) ∆ AMC ≅ ∆ BMD
(ii) ∠ DBC is a right angle.
(iii) ∆ DBC ≅ ∆ ACB

34. What length of tarpaulin 3 m wide will be required to make conical tent of height 8 m and base radius
6m? Assume that the extra length of material that will be required for stitching margins and wastage
in cutting is approximately 20 cm (Use π = 3.14).
OR
A hemispherical dome of a building needs to be painted. If the circumference of the base of the dome
is 17.6 m, find the cost of painting it, given the cost of painting is ₹5 per 100 cm2 .

35. 100 surnames were randomly picked up from a local telephone directory and a frequency distribution
of the number of letters in the English alphabet in the surnames was found as follows:

Case study based questions are compulsory.

36. On one day, principal of a particular school visited the classroom. Class teacher was teaching the concept of
polynomial to students. He was very much impressed by her way of teaching. To check, whether the students
also understand the concept taught by her or not, he asked various questions to students. Some of them are
given below. Answer them.

(i) Which is the general form of Quadratic Equation ? (1)


(ii) Check whether (t + 1) is a factor of the polynomial p(t) = 4t3 + 4t2 - t - 1 . (1)
(iii) If two friends collected donation amount 2x2 -7x -15. Find their individual contribution. (2)

Compute the value of 9x + 4y if xy = 6 and 3x + 2y =12.
37. Four girls named A, B , C and D are playing a game with one end of rope in their
hand and other end tied with point O. They are moving around O. After a while
they stop , at that time their ropes are inclined to each other by angles
x , y , z and w. Such that A and B are just opposite to each other.
(i) Show that x + y = z + w. (1)
(ii) If ‘y’ is double of ‘x’ , then find the values of x and y. (1)
(iii) If x + y = z + w , then prove that AOB is a line (2)
OR
Write the condition when C and D will be opposite to each other , the way A and B are .
38. A food pyramid is a representation of the optimal number of servings to be eaten each day from each of
basic food groups. It is designed to make healthy eating easier. Health care NGO in India working for
underprivileged children. In rural areas health statistics are continue to poor. In this direction Health
statistics are continue to poor. In this direction Health Care India has made the children under the age
of 13 aware of “food pyramid” by telling the importance of different food groups such as carbohydrates,
fats, vitamins, proteins, minerals etc. The models of food pyramid which they have used triangle
sides 10 cm, 10 cm, 12 cm.
Now answer the following questions :
(i) Find the semi perimeter of a triangle. (1)
(ii) Which type of triangle is given in food pyramid ? (1)
(iii) Find the area of food pyramid which is in shape of triangle. (2)
OR
Find the area of the region Fats Oil and Milk Cheese . If from top
second line segment is formed by joining mid points of sides of triangle.
