ABSTRACT

An internship is a valuable opportunity for students to gain practical experience in their

field of study, apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios, and develop essential skills

that will enhance their future career prospects. It provides a chance to learn from professionals,

build networks, and explore potential career paths while contributing to the organization's goals

and objectives. Aligned with this statement, this study is entitled “The impact of Criminological

Internship to the Police Criminologia of Floridablanca Police Station” where it analyzes the

influence or effect of implementing criminological internship. Also, it deeply explores on the

system followed by the assigned personnel as well as the method used in the said internship.

In addition, this study lies in its potential to contribute new knowledge, fill gaps in

existing literature, and address important research questions. For police officials of Municipality

of Floridablanca, Pampanga, this study is beneficial for it provides an idea/knowledge of the

impact of internship and on how they will improve it. To the students of criminology as well as

their parents, this study provides an information and head start on how this internship will

enhance their skills that will be also beneficial in future endeavors related to their course

criminology. Lastly, this study may also operate as a future reference/analysis for future

researchers as it also contributes to the body of knowledge.

Furthermore, the police officers are the main source of data in this study which focuses

on how the internship affects their current situation as a police officer. Perspectives, opinions,

experiences, or behaviors will be asked from the respective respondents. The necessary data and

information will be utilized to address research objectives and answer research questions. By

sharing their insights and experiences, respondents enable researchers to gather valuable data,

analyze patterns, and draw meaningful conclusions.


In relation with that, the researchers will administer a questionnaire in order to gather the

data needed in this study. The questionnaire serves as a standardized tool that ensures

consistency and comparability of data across different participants which allows the researchers

to collect data from a large sample size efficiently. The questionnaire is carefully design which

considers several factors such as clarity, relevance, and the target audience. By using

questionnaires as a data gathering technique, researchers can efficiently collect a wide range of

data, making it a valuable tool in this study.

Lastly, the researchers of this study recommend future researchers who wishes to explore

this similar topic through considering a mixed-method approach which allows a deeper

exploration of the experiences and perception of the said topic. Future researchers may also

include a control group of police officers who have not participated in an internship program in

order to better assess the unique benefits and changes that result from internships. Longitudinal

study design may also be implemented by future researchers where it involves collecting data at

multiple time points, such as before, during, and after the internship period. Lastly, it is also

recommended for future researchers to explore a variety of internship programs within different

police departments or agencies that will allow for a comparison of the effects of various

internship structures, durations, and focuses.
