Scavenger Hunt: Exploring Google Docs


To complete the scavenger hunt below, you will need to be curious and resourceful.
You will not need to leave this document to complete these tasks. Everything you need
is right here! Please read the directions for each task carefully.

1. Define the following words using the define tool in this doc. Add the definitions as
comments.
 abeyance
 chromatic
 excrescence

2. Use the explore tool in this document to answer the following California trivia
questions. Please add each answer in a different color.
 How tall (in feet) is California’s highest peak?
 Where is the avocado capital of the world?
 What year did the first motion picture theatre open in Los Angeles?

3. Find a picture online of California’s official state bird and insert your picture in the
space below.

4. Use the explore tool in this document to find an interesting website about California,
then type the title of the website below and create a hyperlink.

5. Insert a table with 3 columns and 5 rows below.

6. Use the word count tool to find out how many words is this document. Type your
answer here:

7. Switch the page setup from portrait to landscape and make the entire page yellow.

8. In the space below, write out the math problem three divided by three with the
answer using only numbers and math symbols.

9. Add a header to this page with your name and the date. *Bonus points for adding a
picture of your school mascot to your header.

10. Type your favorite quote below. Then change the font to something fun or unusual
then change the font to your favorite color.

11. Insert page numbers into this document.

12. Which feature in Google Docs is your favorite? Use the voice typing tool to record
your answer below.
How to submit

1. Save your work and name it e.g ”Tamboong_Mariamie_GoogleDocs”

2. Click the “Share” button, Go to “Get Link”, Click “Anyone with the link”. Copy
the link and Click “Done”.

3. Attach the link in the Google classroom.
