PROBLEM SOLVING - AT THE SEASIDE 1 ANSWERS

1) Captain Salamander builds 8 sandcastles. The sea comes and


washes away 5 of them. How many are left? 8 - 5 = 3 sandcastles

2) Flame spots 3 starfish in a rock pool. She counts their legs. How
many legs are there altogether? 5 + 5 + 5 = 15 legs

3) Tyger sees a herd of 10 seahorses. He scares 3 of them away.


How many are left? 10 - 3 = 7 seahorses

4) Captain sees 4 fish. 8 more fish come along. How many are
there now? 4 + 8 = 12 fish
