1. A solid metallic sphere of diameter 28cm is melted and recast into a no. of smaller cones each
of diameter 4 cm and height 3 cm. Find the no. of cones so formed.
2. The radius and slant height of a cone are in the ratio 4:7. If its curved surface area is 792
[Link] its radius.
3. If the lateral surface area of a cylinder is 94.2 [Link] and its height is 5 cm, then find radius of
its base.
4. The curved surface area of a right circular cylinder is 4400 [Link]. If the circumference of its
base is 110 cm, find its height.
5. A conical pandal 240 m in radius and 100 m high is made of cloth which is 260 m wide. What
is the length of cloth used to make the pandal.
6. The slant height of a cone is 26 cm and base diameter is 20 cm. Find its volume and curved
surface area.
7. If the radius of the base of a right circular cylinder is halved, keeping the height same, what is
the ratio of the volume of the reduced cylinder to that of the original one?
8. There are two cones, the curved surface area of one cone is twice that of the other. The slant
height of later is twice that of the former. Find the ratio of their radii.
9. The diameter of a roller is 250 cm and length is 140 cm. If it takes 500 complete revolutions to
level a play-ground, determine the cost of levelling at the rate of 50 paise per square meter.
10. Aditya was doing an experiment to find the radius r of a ball. For this he took a cylindrical
container with radius R = 7 cm and height 10 cm. He filled the container half by water as shown
in thefigure-1. Now he dropped the ball into the container as in [Link] observed that in
figure-2, the water level in the container raised from P to Q i.e, to 3.4 cm.
Read the above passage and answer the questions
(a) What is the approximate radius of the ball?
(b) What is the volume of the cylinder?
(c) What is the volume of the spherical ball?
