Steps
Step 0: Hang all the posters up.

Step 1: Greet the “class” and tell them that they will all be getting new
names and identities. Have them look at the name list and help them read
them all.

Step 2: After names are chosen, go over with the class how to do a basic
introduction and how to ask about jobs. Have them practice by themselves
first and then with each other. Model the conversation first.

Step 3: After introductions have been completed, tell the “class” that we
will be looking at a dialogue. Hand out the transcripts and their translations.
Read the transcript quietly in Japanese as the students look over the English
translation and the notes. Then read the English translation with them (as
they follow along with fingers in the Japanese), and finally read the Japanese
transcript with them.

Step 4: Have volunteers read the transcript, acting out the parts.
Step 5: End the class, emphasizing that there is no homework other than
if the students wish to read over the transcript some more.
