THESIS WRITING INSTRUCTIONS

QUESTIONNAIRE
Questions: Minimum 20 (Personal questions excluded)
Sample size: Minimum 100
GENERAL FORMAT
Paper size: A4 size (210 mm x 297 mm).
Margin: 1.5 inches from the left and 1 inch from the top, right, and bottom
on every page including the cover.
DATA ANALYSIS
• Data Analysis: Minimum 3 tools
• The analysis and presentation of a question has to be on a single page
(Table, Chart, and interpretation)
PAGE NUMBERING
• The page number must be written on the top right edge of all pages,
starting from the preface pages of the thesis to the appendix pages.
• The preface of the thesis, starting from the title page, must be numbered
using lowercase Roman numerals (i, ii, iii, and so on).
• The text pages and the rest of the thesis must be numbered using Arabic
numerals (1, 2, 3, and so on)
• The first page of the thesis, the title page, is unnumbered but is
considered as page ‘i’. The first page of Chapter 1 is numbered using
Arabic numerals as page ‘1’ followed by the rest pages as 2, 3, and so on.
TYPING
• The thesis must be typed in double-spacing Times New Roman font, size
12. Use italics to emphasize some important words in the thesis.
• The spacing between text lines should be 2.0 lines.
• The text should be typed on one side of the A4 paper.
• Chapter titles must be typed with capital letters and centered between
the left and right margins. Each chapter must begin on a new page.
• Main titles (e.g., 1.1 INTRODUCTION) must be written in bold capital
letters.
• Sub-chapters should be typed in bold only the first letter of the words of
the sub-titles should be in uppercase.
• Justified text gives the document clean, crisp edges so it looks more
polished
REPORT
• Theses must be permanently bound with hard covers
• All the details mentioned on the cover page must be printed using regular
Times New Roman font, size 18.
• The color codes for the cover – Black
• Number of pages: 100-150 Pages
• The student and guide in respective places must sign the thesis
VIVA
• Presentation (PPT) Required
• Internal Viva -1: Minimum 10 slides (Excluding Title Slide)
• Internal Viva -2: Minimum 15 slides (Excluding Title Slide)
• External Viva: Minimum 20 slides (Excluding Title Slide)
